I live in las Vegas and there are plenty of protein rich foods and numerous restaurants to choose from like the protein house.

BMI 35 or lower. Would you sleeve or bypass?
raeannr replied to OldMomOf3's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
I did bypass as well. I had to have a hernia repair and my doc suggested to go with bypass. -
I am 8 months post op on the 11th and I had bypass and hernia repair and I had no complications and definitely no regrets! It was a very emotional week after surgery though but if you do what your told and eat slowly you will do fine! I would do over again in a heart beat IT is the best thing that I ever did for myself!

I originally went for the band but I had a really bad hiatal hernia in which my doc strongly recommended to do gastric. I really didn't want to get anything rerouted like TinaC but then I did more research and decided that was best for me and Im so happy I did it cause it is very restrictive. I can pretty much eat anything but in way smaller portions and too much sugar does cause me to dump which was my downfall in the first place!!

Biotene helps as well ! :-) -
I was 6 weeks out yesterday and have only lost 25lbs so 39 sounds great to me. My problem is food does not taste good at all at the moment so I've been having a hard time getting in calories and protein. All in all I've had no complications which I'm grateful for but I arrive on and Monday I'm going to start a boot camp so maybe that will help the scale to move!

I am 5 weeks out and have the same problem. Nothing tastes good but I almost get in at least 700 calories and all my protein. -

I just went through the same thing buy baby spoons and eat super slow. I was taking too big of a bite and too fast and was having excruciating painful cramps and I'm almost 3 weeks post op! Good luck! -
That's amazing! I had surgery july 11 and just started pureed foods and have been at a stall for about a week.

Hi everybody! I am currently 2 weeks out from surgery and have started eating soft foods yesterday and Im not doing so well. Yesterday I ate fat free refried beans and cheese and about died. It did not agree with my stomach at all and today I just ate some baked salmon and chewed it to an oblivion and my stomach is back in excruciating cramping pain. What am I doing wrong please HELP?

worst stomach pain ever!
raeannr replied to raeannr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I tried the Unjury protein powder and it makes me gag. I tried egg salad with greek yogurt and dill, fast free refried beans and cheese and ricotta bake. Beans and cheese went out as soon as it went in. The ricotta the second day made my stomach hurt and then I ate a an herb and garlic marinated salmon and have me the worst cramps ever. So I'm going back to fluids today. -
worst stomach pain ever!
raeannr replied to raeannr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been drinking the Isopure drinks and i add crystal light to it cuz they are 40g of protein a drink that way I only have to drink 2 a day. I can't stand the powder protein it makes me gag. All the things that are on my list as far as full liquid I don't eat like yogurt, cream of wheat or cottage cheese and all the cram soups I've tried don't agree with me either. So at this point I'm at a loss:( -
worst stomach pain ever!
raeannr replied to raeannr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think I'm going to stick to just liquids for a few more weeks. -
I cannot do the power protein so what I've been doing is the isopure protein drink that has 40g of protein and adding some crystal light to it so the flavor is better! All the other stuff makes me gag.
