Foot 911: What kind of shoes and socks do you wear?
ElectricBoogaloo replied to %^&'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I wear Asics and have for years. They key is to replace your shoes (every 6 months, yearly, etc. based on the mileage used). Also note that shoe companies continue to tweak the design of the same shoe annually and the ergonomics could change and no longer fit your foot as before. -

You should start a thread with your pictures! You are doing amazingly! You can't delete the post, but you can edit, delete the content, include a word or phrase and re-save (ex. Posting in a new thread...)๐ for both posts. -

I have to blend mine in a shake. I gag trying to swallow them, even when I cut them in quarters. Yikes! -
Not feeling full - can eat a โnormalโ size portion
ElectricBoogaloo replied to Pink nova's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
She was coming from a good place, @summerset. In essence, she was saying that as I advance and can tolerate more food, don't eat more than you have become accustomed to eating during the process (1 cup). I have watched a few of Dr. Weiner's videos and like his perspective, as well. -
You have got to be kidding me! That's awful. You may try posting in the gastric bypass section for responses. Best of luck!

Not feeling full - can eat a โnormalโ size portion
ElectricBoogaloo replied to Pink nova's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Interestingly, at my one month follow-up, my surgeon began discussing how to continue being successful after the honeymoon period, when your stomach can hold more food (6mo+). She said it is up to me to eat the allotted amount of food and then stop; continue to measure. -

How to reduce scarring on incisions?
ElectricBoogaloo replied to paulec74's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I use Kelo-cote (similar to ScarAway). Has worked amazingly for me. -

Any shorties out there with progress pics?!
ElectricBoogaloo replied to MSG0310's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Love the faux locks! They were generous with how small my boobs will be...not gonna happen, but I will take it! -
It does, Fluff! Will minimize the appearance and still help flatten if scar is raised. I have been using it for a variety of things over the past 10 years...kinda like everything can be fixed with a little duct tape...that's how I feel about kelo-cote!๐๐๐
-
Twice a day for 90 days will show great results. Keep some on had and ideally start the regimen when the scab comes off or if no scab, when the wound has healed/no longer open. It flattens raised scars pretty well, too.
-
It would help if I spelled it correctly...๐๐ Why, oh why, do I post at night?! Anywho, it has been a lifesaver (skinsaver?) of mine for years.

Drink, drink, and more drink!

Dig, if you will, a picture of my surgeon and I engaged in a conversation...I miss you, Prince๐ข... So, I am at my 1 month follow-up appointment. The tip of the suture is sort of poking my skin just beneath the surface, without puncturing it. My surgeon is trying to pull it through to remove it, because it is painful if anything touches it. As she is using a plastic tweezer ๐ to try to get it out... Me: So, you let a resident tie the suture off, didn't ya? Dr: [Blank stare] Me: (Incredulously) a med student?! ...crickets... Bwahahaha! Actually she did it, then started to explain the shifts and how this came about...blah, blah, blah; yada, yada, yada; blase spiel, blase spiel... Still couldn't get it out..."when it pokes through use a razor".๐ค๐ณ๐ฒ (Love my surgeon, by the way...the most non-stereotypical surgeon I ever encountered.) Thank God for Kelo-kote, though! Applied twice daily, religiously. My lapband scars are nearly invisible (only the port site was slightly visible). The new scars look great and I expect the same type of resolution.

Of course you do! Give it the ol' college try!! We will be rooting for you!
