justbeingme replied to shauntil6266's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
After surgery, I had gas pains. Other than that, I didn't have any pains. -
Jenna- Thank you for this! Like we were talking about, it is different for teens! Hopefully theses teenbandsters will all come forward and we can get to know each other!

Hello girls! I am 15 and had the band done at 14. There are not many younger bandsters around, but the site is great none the less. Welcome, and good luck with your bands! -
Suggestion For Adult Board
justbeingme replied to NJChick's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
Banding under 18 is wise because without the band, I might be not be the 30 lbs lighter that I am, but 30+ lbs heavier. Why ruin your life by being overweight. And I come here for the same reason that anyone else comes. I come to get help and give what I can. Sorry to offend but I felt it needed said -
Ever since being banded, I have also been constantly craving chocolate! Sometimes I go ahead and eat it but other times I resist the urge and end up wanting it even more than before.

I got on the scale this morning even though it wasn't my weigh in day, and I am now down 30 lbs! I have been struggling to get here and I have finally made it! I am soo excited! I am going to go do a lil Irish Jig in the middle of town. haha

I once had the bad seat. I actually thought that it was my leg hitting the button, but I actually had a bad seat that wouldn't stay up! Well congratulations on your NSV! It is a great one that you should be very proud of!

Maybe you need to get another fill. Like they said above, if your working out alot, maybe you should take in some more calories. Also, try journaling what you are eating, if you are eating small amounts but just junk, it isn't going to do you any good.

You should probably go see your doc if you are getting sick 3-4 times a week! You need to use your will power and eat better foods. Talk to the doctor, explain to him about your eating, fills, and about how you think you've stretched your pouch. It is better to come clean and get it fixed than let it go and just keep getting sick, eating junk, and not losing. Kylie

I am a very mature fifteen year old girl. Born and raised in the good ol US of A by my British mum and Irish father. I like sports especially basketball. I need a lot of inspiration but also willing to give it in return! I have been banded since July 05. I love to watch football, the Miami Dolphins, and basketball, the Duke Blue Devils. I love to read! I like sports fiction, mystery, teen drama, and holocaust stories. I live in a tiny town on the border of New York and Pennsylvania. Our town may be small but we have a Walmart, gotta love it, and 5 dollar stores! I have 2 nieces and 2 nephews.

Hardest behavior for you to change?
justbeingme replied to Wheetsin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Right now the hardest thing for me to do is to stop eating when I start to feel full. Most of the time I am able to and I leave it alone, but then there are other times I just want to keep eating that yummy corn/green beans/potato. My band keeps saying no! All I want is a little bite but the band won't listen so I do stop. I just stop a little late where I have the uncomfortable full feeling which I really dislike by the way! Before surgery I thought that hardest thing would be giving up soda but that doesn't even bother me now! Once in a while I do drink when I eat but not everyday or everytime. -
Good golly that was funny! I sure got a Monday night chuckle out of that! I really like the story about your daughter! I couldn't stop laughing about that one.
-
woo hoo very good for you! to bad that the weather here is very crappy so we cant have a nice outdoor walk! but again very good!!

I havent been on in a few weeks because while playing basketball i fell and sprained 3-4 ligaments in my ankle and havent found time to get on and let you know! I am on crutches until further notice and I have a long road to recovery, because I sprained the second largest ligament in your body. The deltoid ligament is very hard to sprain and harder to rehab. I will keep you all posted on what I know! Best wishes all, Kylie

My doc's answer on carbonation....love it!!
justbeingme replied to Kathy473's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Dr. Ortiz told me that even though his nutritionist says no more soda ever, he disagrees. He says it doesn't hurt the band, but it can hurt the person. He says once in awhile is fine for it but not to much. I had half a can of soda about a month ago and I had to stop because I got gas pains so bad from the bubbles. I am also used to not being allowed to have it so it doesn't really bother me anymore!
