  1. Well today was my first appointment with the surgeon and they said anyone who quits smoking as I have (I used Chantix) has to do 3 tobacco urine free months and at some point they do a surprise one. I don't mind that part I really don't I'm just mad at myself plus I had every single thing done except 1 more weigh in.

  2. I've already started eating as if I've had the surgery just because I truly believe it will be easier for me to have most things not be such a shock to my system. I just had some pork steak tho and I seriously want to go throw it up. Is pork something that is a no go after surgery as well?

  3. So I haven't even met with my surgeon yet. However I have had my packet mailed to me by his office and I've done everything on the checklist besides the 6 months of weigh in's. My appointment isn't until September 22nd and by then I will have 4 possibly 5 weigh in's done and everything else like said before done so is this normally when they set your surgery date?

  4. I've actually taken it before. Years ago prior to my divorce I took it and it worked AMAZING! They tell you to keep smoking for the first 7 days and that you'll eventually quit having the urge and that's no lie. It was literally the 7th day and I didn't want another cigarette. Why I gave my ex the power over me to start smoking again when we got divorced I have no clue but it is the first thing I did when I left the house ugh!

The only bad side effect that I had was really bad and vivid dreams & I'm actually bipolar so it's something that we really paid close attention too.

My biggest piece of advice would be to watch yourself emotionally and be thankful that 7 days in your need for a cigarette should be gone. Good luck!

  5. Hopefully I'm going to be on that November surgery list! I had my 2nd weigh in today, down another 2 lbs for a grand total of 19! Scheduled my psych eval which is in August, already did my surgery orientation and am scheduled to meet with the surgery center on the 22nd of September. It's hard not to get excited especially beings I haven't actually met with the surgeon but like everyone says they've had so many patients take this same road it shouldn't be any different for me.

  6. Today was my 2nd weigh in with my PCP. I lost 17 lbs the first weigh in and 2 today! I have 4 more to go. I also scheduled my psych eval for August 12th got prescribed chantix to quit smoking, went to orientation with my surgeon but don't actually have my first appointment with the office until September 22nd. I hope even tho I don't have my appointment with the office that I'm doing everything possible so that I can have gastric bypass in November.
