Dr L. Machado/sacbariatrics/program fee?
kathystrick replied to Lana24's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
The Dr. I am considering charges $500, but that includes meetings with the nutrutionist and what they call a nurse psychologist, as well as co-pay for office visits. -
You sound like my husband! i tell him all the time I think he would eat anything with hot sauce on it. I do the butter thing though. If it tastes good with a little butter on it, it's even better with a LOT of butter...and I do mean LOT!! Another thing I will have to be careful of once I have my surgery...:faint:

Anyone know more about the docs in Georgia?
kathystrick replied to Michmoze's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
NeNe, That's great!! It won't be long now!! Good luck to you and keep me posted... -
Oh Mona! Thanks for sharing your story. I so feel for you. I had a chair collapse under me at DH's parent's house on Easter when he and I were dating and I so just wanted the earth to open up and swallow me!! I can laugh about it now, but only because I am MUCH more careful where I park my big @ss! I am so loking forward to the day when I can sit anywhere I want, stand/walk as long as I want, and not be a slave to my weight any longer!!! Good luck to you and thanks to for sharing your myspace!! I will be requesting to be your "friend" later today when I get home and would LOVE a copy of that CD!

I have the same problem!! I am a D to a DD depending on the bra and anytime I have lost major amounts of weight in the past, the girls just hang in there ( and I mean HANG!! :faint:). I am hoping to be able to get a lift once I have surgery and lose my weight. WHo wants to have a knock out body and boobs that hang to their waist when not strapped up? :phanvan -

Hey NeNe! Well, November is over half gone...How are your other appointments progressing towards your goal of December 3? -
Is anyone familiar with the BCBS PPO plan for SC state employees? I am getting ready to take this plan and know they took WLS off the benefits list a couple of years ago, but hoping they have added it back or might be for 2008. I also heard that since the surgery itself isn't covered, they don't cover any complications caused by the surgery/band. If anyone is familiar, let me know please!!!

LOL That is a very good idea!! Once that happened, I would probably have to tell them who I was or they wouldn't recognize me!!

Name one thing people would be surprised to know about you

I have seen the new show and like the way he follows up with the families he does readings for in that show, but as far as format, I really liked the old show better. I catch it every now and then, but always forget to look for it. I think it comes on at the same time as something my husband likes to watch. -

It really is the most awesome feeling when someone can reassure you in that way. Sometimes life can make you think you're crazy, but a little insight from an outsider brings it back into perspective. -

kathystrick replied to Michmoze's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I remember them saying they had that list of doctors they refer you to. It does seem like that would make the whole process smoother. I am hoping the doctor I end up with in SC will be the same way. How did the psych visit go? -
Mine are 18, 17, and 15. Not quite grown, but pretty close. I am grateful that I have been blessed with their being healthy and safe and I have never had opportunity to find out just what I am capable of when it comes to protecting them. :heh:

I am also a firm believer in karma. I have seen the old saying "what goes around, comes around" come true too many times. In my life, I find it more peaceful and less stressful for myself to just cut those out who cause me grief. At the same time, being a believer in karma, I try to do the best I can to be the best person I can be without causing grief for others. I don't want to have to keep looking over my shoulder waiting on it to come back on me!:faint:Now, that being said, I do have the typical mother response when it comes to my kids - mess with ANY of my kids and the gloves come off. I'll take whatever karma wants to deal me for that.

Oh, ok. What pre-op appointments are they requiring for you? -
My sentiments exactly, SSDiva!! DH and I have very different attitudes about this. I feel like as long as I have ANY feeling, whatever the person did, and therefore the person theirself, still has control over you. It's when you can honestly say you have reached indifference that you have regained control over the situation. DH, on the other hand, will carry a grudge and negative feelings about a person FOREVER!!! Drives me crazy.

Thanksgiving Holiday - Celebrating or Ignoring?
kathystrick replied to Chelle B's topic in The Lounge
We will drive to North Carolina to see DH's dad and family. We only see everyone in his family at his dad's birthday in April, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, so no way to really put an end to that tradition. I will just have to practice self control. -

As much as I love John Edward, I have never read any of his books. Sylvia Browne's either. Don't know why because I love to read, just never had an interest for some reason. I have read about Sylvia's son online and remember reading somewhere that he isn't as good as her. Wouldn't think he would fake it though. What a rip off. Sorry you had that experience, but glad it didn't turn you off of psychics. You know what they say about one bad apple.. -

Yes, it was. He told me things I really needed to hear and knew things about me/my history there was no way for him to know. I straightened my act out fast based on the things he told me. He even taped parts of it so I would have it for future reference. He didn't tape the whole thing because he said the more personal things he didn't want recorded to protect my privacy. -

Where were you sitting? I was accross the room from the door sitting next to the wall about halfway up. I loved his presentation and how throughly he covered everything, over and over when necessary. I was ready to make my appointment, but we are moving back to SC now, so I will have to start all over. At least I will go into it there with a little more knowledge because of Dr. Mneachery. Good luck with your surgery! -
