Thanks everyone! Steph, I might give the surgeon's office a day or two to get around to calling me, but I will definitely be hounding them by Friday if I don't hear anything!

We have one, but there is always someone just waiting to push it to the limit. And some of those limits are pretty ugly, let me tell ya!! -
Surgery postponed :(

Well that's good! Let us know what your surgeon says once they talk. Hopefully he will let you go ahead and schedule! Keep us posted! -
I use Spark People, which is similar I think and really have enjoyed it, but plan on checking out Daily Plate since reading about it on here.

I think I would have to ask for clarification on that one!

Do you keep a food journal?
kathystrick replied to Angeladarling's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I do, but not as religiously as I should. When I have a bad day, I don't want to know what I ate fort he day. Those are probably the days I need to keep it even more though. -

Working in a high school, you wouldn't believe some of the things I see girls walking around wearing! And let's not even get started on their prom attire...(our prom was Saturday night) -

Would You Wear a Mini-skirt?
kathystrick replied to Jennie1976's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
That would be good too, as long as I don't have that little roll of fat that still comes over the top of the low riders and under the top. I HATE that! I wonder sometimes if the girls around here don't look in the mirror before they leave home or at least ask their friends how they look! -
Hi Paige! Congratulations on your decision to get the band and good luck where ever you decide to go!

Congratulations on your date and good luck with your surgery!

I think I am going to give them next week and if I haven't heard anything by the end of the week, call then.

So far, my list of people who think they have to be there when I have surgery includes my hubby and mom. Not sure if my son will go (probably depends on how early we ahve to be there). DH is planning to stay over night and take the following day off as well. His company has this way of making plans for him anytime he needs to be off for something and I have told him he'd better put in for vacation as soon as I have a date and tell them why he is taking the days so they don't get any crazy ideas!

Would You Wear a Mini-skirt?
kathystrick replied to Jennie1976's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I said I would wear one, but have say in the right place. I work in a high school, so for me to wear one to work would definitely be a NO. But DH plays in a band, and if I were going out to hear them play one night, I definitely would sport one once at goal. Not a micro mini by any means, but just short enough to make DH smile knowing that he gets to go home with me. -
Nope, nothing yet! I am starting to think I will be one of those people who wait months!!

Welcome to LBT! Good luck to you! -
I remember those things. My cousin bought one for her son. That thing gave me the creeps! Kinda like Chuckie. Couldn't sleep with thta thing in the room!

Mine was fast and easy. We talked about an hour about all sorts of things including my expectations for surgery, my history, any health issues, my family's mental health history, and my expectations after surgery. I told him I have taken medication for depression in the past and my father suffers from depression, and he still said he thought I was a good candidate for surgery. I had no written part to my evaluation either. Good luck to you!

Congratulations on you approval. Good luck!

Hi Christine and welcome to LBT! Good luck with getting your band. I am waiting on insurance approval and I will be joining Bandland myself! This is the most frustrating part I think. I had the same problem with my husband when I first began discussing WLS and it finally took him going to an appointment with me for him to understand that I will still be able to enjoy my favorite foods, just not in such large quantities. He feels much better about it now. Fortunately, he doesn't have the weight battle. In trying to convince your husband to consider it, have him look around on here. There are people here who are just getting the band who are older than he is. As long as you are breathing, is it ever too late to increase the quality and length of your life? I don't think so!!
