I can also feel my port area all the time. It feels sore all the time. I hope that there isn't an infection present, also, I haven't lost any wt since October, I don't have restriction so I hope with my fill on Jan. 9, I will start to lose the wt. tying to be patient but it's getting difficult. I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year. ( I forgot how to post new threads, someone send me a reminder). God Bless.

Did I miss something? Now that we have lap bands are we supposed to be pre medicated before dental treatment like we have patients pre med for mitral valve prolapse? I now that we now have a prothesis in our bodies but it didn't occur to me that pre med is now a protocol to be followed.

How did you feel immediately after surgery?
mahelpme replied to fatgirlnomore's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was sent home with a script, don't recall what it was and I didn't fill it. Liquid tylenol worked just fine. alot of pain in my shoulder, that was gas, I did alot of walking the day I got home, even 4 hours after surgery I was up, walking the halls, that night in the hospital I walked 30 laps around the hospital floor. As the days progressed, the challenging part for me was finding a comfortable position to sleep in. I had to sleep in a recyliner. There was alot of soreness for weeks, even now my port area feels sore and I explained to my doctor that I have such a positive awareness of the port, I can feel it all the time also as I get trimmer, it is more apparent to the touch. There are little things that you will have to get use to like how to get up from the chair without hurting your self, picking up your clothes, blow drying your hair, you will rediscover how to comfortably do these things for yourself. I took 2 weeks of and I'm glad that I did. Just to get comfortable with the liquid diet, I wasn't sure that I would have enough energy on just the liquid diet, then there is the diarrhea that you get being on just liquids. I would take 2 weeks to heal and explore the newly approaching you. Enjoy the discovery. -
Hi everyone. I didn't go to the gym today. We had our first snow storm of the season and I just wanted to hang out home today. Anyway, I have the Leslie Sansone Walk away the pounds and I did the 3 mile walk today and it was awesome, it was a nice little work out and I recommend it for those folks who don't want to go to the gym, would rather work out at home, it was a great deal of fun and I thought I would tell everyone about it since we are all recovering and healing post surgery. Let me know if any of you try it. I like the excercise bands that come with it, you get cardio and strength training at the same time. Happy exercising.

is anyone else working out?

Edazul, no I don't have any pain or discomfort when I do crunches but, I am very careful and I go very slow with the assistance of a personal trainer. You may be to soon out of surgery to start with crunches. I asked my doctor for permission and I had surgery on Sept 26. Ask your doctor before you do anything, like you I was (am) constantly worried about band slippage, right now I am fighting a cold and have a barking deep cough, I just try to be careful all the time, Good luck and God Bless

I had my first fill today at 11:00 am, it didn't hurt at all, I then went to the gym and did my usual 30 minutes of cardio followed by 30 minutes of weight lifting which included sets on the abdominal crunch machine. Nothing hurts, I feel great, just really hungry. When does the restriction start I could eat anything right now. I hope your situation gets better.

thanks for the info

I'll be getting my 1st fill on friday the 18th. I'm not worried about the needle but I am worried about being to tight and throwing up, any suggestions?
