  1. I have to report to the hospital at 9am. Im not really nervous at all. Although i almost cried today as i realized my relationship with food is about to change for the long haul. I was on clear liquids all day so it seemed like so many food commercials came on.....ok so I did get teary eyed. I believe whatever this is that im feeling is a natural feeling that comes with life changes and i am absolutely ready for the change........it just hurts a little. Oh and i purchased the book Beyond the Refridgerator per someones recommendation on bp. I will start reading when i leave the hospital. Wish me luck folks!!!

    Self pay question

I paid about $15,000 in louisiana. $13,600 for the actual procedure, the rest was paid while doing pre op test like sleep studies and EKGs and stuff.....u know. Some was spent on the Rx, over the counter meds, and vitimins. This stuff was expensive to me. Even the protien shakes for pre op hit my pocket. Just be prepared to have about at least $500 on top of what the procedure itself costs.

    JULY 2014 SLEEVERS GROUP

Hello all, my surgery is scheduled for July 22nd.....I cant wait. Was everyone able to stay faithful to the liquid diet pre-op? I'm struggling over here.
  4. I am looking forward to fitting in chairs and not having to call ahead to see if places have adequate seating. I am also looking forward to the positive change in my sex life, the increase in mobility, going to theatres to see plays/shows (before I could not fit in the seats), being able to cross my legs, being able to dance, having room in my driver side area (now the seat belt is so uncomfortable and my belly touches the seering wheel), running, people not starring at me, not being the big girl when I go out with friends, and simply being able to fit in (chothes, cars, airplanes, crowded places, desks, and the environment as a whole). My surgery is scheduled for July 22, 2014......This will be the day that my life changes forever. I am determined to accomplish all of these NSVs.

    Im 450lbs

Hello all, I am new to this site and wanted to know if there was anyone who started at 450 + lbs and was able to achieve long term success? I am a 33 yr old female and my VSG is scheduled for July 22, 2014 with Dr. Thomas Lavin (The Surgical Specialist of Louisiana) and the surgery will take place at Crescent City Surgical Center. I am not nervous at all about the procedure. However I am concerned about maintaining weight loss. Whenever I have lost weight in the past, it has been easy for the weight to come off ( was able to lose 100lbs). But months later it comes back double. At 450lbs I don't want to say that I am healthy, but I only take 1 Rx for hypertension. I am hoping to get rid of this Rx post surgery. I am just so worried that I will lose lots of weight and years later gain it all back. Does anyone else have this concern at the magnitude that it bothers me?
