Does everyone experience hair loss after being banded? I am only 3 weeks out of surgery & not really seeing it, yet, but would like to know what to expect. I do try to get alot of protein every day to try to avoid it, but would like to know what may be coming.

It will be 3 weeks this Thursday, I started thicker liquids at 2 weeks. I, too am hungry more often than I thought that I would be. In the morning seems to be the worst. I drink a protein shake & eat a small container of applesauce, but that don't seem to stay with me very long. I am ready for lunch way before I should be. Unfortunately, I am not very creative when it comes to food, so I am having a bit of a problem figuring out different things to eat at this stage of the game. I hope the next week & a half go by fast. Then I will get to start adding some solids. Hopefully that will make a difference in the hunger. If anyone has any suggestions, please throw them this way.

Got home yesterday from being banded Thursday, feel better today than I did yesterday. I too have a problem getting in my tall bed & laying on my back. But not too bad, long as I take my meds when needed. My family are all out swimming. That sort of bums me out. I love to swim. I don't know about where anyone else is, but it is 103 degrees outside here! I don't seem to feel as bad as I thought I would. That's a good thing! I was worried what I would do about being hungry. I haven't been hungry once, yet. I am happy to see that the other new bandsters are doing good, also. On My Way to a Slimmer ME!

Hi txbldhnds! Tomorrow is my big day, also!! I am experiencing the same feelings you are. My head is not on straight today. I have made so many errors at work, I think they wish I had taken off today, also. Anyway....Good Luck to you. What time is your surgery? Mine is at 9:00. I will send positive thoughts your way if I am able to have thoughts at that time.

I'm not nesting, but what is strange is that I am not hungry! My doc doesn't make his patients do the liquid diet before surgery, in fact, no restrictions at all. I figured I would be eating every thing in site just because - but I really have no appetite at all.

Hi Mousecrazy, Thanks for the encouragement. Yeah, I am glad that I found this sight, also. I have been reading it for about a month now & almost every question that I have thought of has been answered here. It is Awesome. And I know that no one can tell me how I am going to feel, but just having someone answer back is helpful, ya know? Good luck on your surgery. too.

They make you jump thru alot of hoops, & it feels like it will never get here!, but then all of a sudden it is right around the corner. I couldn't hardly believe it when my insurance told me that they cover this type of surgery. Good Luck putting everything together.

Have you already had your surgery, or are you playing the waiting game, also? Either way is exciting & a little scarey.

I am very excited about getting banded, but I want to know something; I know that if you don't chew your food you will vomit it back up, but what about when you get the stomach flu? I had a bad case of that back in the spring & it has me wondering - if you have stuff in the lower part of the stomach & it needs to come up, how does it fit thru the small opening?
