Not that much to be honest. Loose clothes going in you can wear going home. This is what I had with me. Your in recovery most of the morning/midday and the following morning you go for the swallow test and the next thing you know your going home. Oh reminder at your pre-op have them write all your scrips and fill them before going in for surgery. This way you have it once you get home if you need it!! Slippers & Robe of course. Book (you may not even read it). Sleep apnea machine if you require one. Theycheck!! Undies (change) Brush & tooth/paste Lip balm & small size lotion - you get really dry after surgery. -

I believe you should, don't allow this bully to keep you from the healthy life you want and deserve. I tell you what. If you ever want to book our appointments back to back since I go in every 6-8 weeks I'll help or join with your appointment and this staff member will never ever bully or make you feel the way you do right now ever again. Would this member be Barbra? -

Well that's not a good enough excuse. Noone on his staff has the right to do that to anyone. They may think it's okay and work for some. Not everyone needs that type of care or lack of.... You have come so far we can help support you on what ever you decide. I really believe Aaron needs to know his staff is doing this... Remember he's in charge and he's out for the best for all his patients. He can't correct or fix what he's has no knowledge of when he's not around. -

Ya know this has been an issue since back in Sept. 07 when I first went to him for my surgery. He has had so many problems with the staff @BGH. I'm going to suggest you contact him ASAP. Go through his personal Sec. Lisa @ 859-4024 let her know you want to talk with him. He is way to good and dedicated to this program for this to happen. Please don't let this issue slip past. Make your voice be heard to improve the department there. Will you give an example of whats been happening? If you need support let me know. Cynthia -
Insurance paying for tummy tuck?
LiveLoveLaugh replied to Luu2008's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I know what you're feeling and never be mistaken this condition is not from bad bathing etc.. It's a type of infection that's due from lack of air flow and irritation from trapped moisture. If this goes untreated by a cream & sometimes oral perscription by your doctor this can stay in the blood stream only to pop up sooner than later. Some over the counter items only mask the real problem and it comes back time and again only with more fire and pain. So please don't be ashamed to let your doctor know of this condition it's very inportant to get it treated and better yet documented for your finale good riddens of it forever when you get a tummy tuck. Amen!! Sending you lots of HIGH FIVES....... Cynthia -

I want you to know I was told by the health professionals to make sure at every appointment mention that you have a rash (yeast/heat) under the skin fold. Make sure both your Lap-band surgeon and GP notes it in your chart every single appointment. Even if it's not flared up or if it's even there this will give you a history of skin problems and infection. When the Doctor writes you a script for a cream fill it a few time also. Your insurance cannot surpass the medical history and when or if you have to battle coverage you have the upper hand and have documented history "You will win in the end"....... -
Wow I so agree & enjoy these responces by the men on this subject. You all are so right on how this is being viewed. Many men don't know when a woman is flirting etc.. I too agree that this young lady might not be using common sense on not allowing the husband not to text her. She may have started the chatting since she shared her number with this man. I see now the mother of this young lady has also viewed this as perhaps unprofessional and made mention to the wife in a perfessional way by simple chit chat in the daycare setting. I would take this as nip this in the bud (mother of girl to wife of husband) before it looks like more than just a texting friendly relationship. So I would realy talk with the husband as a couple to make sure it won't go further. Just don't go in the attack mode and don't bring up to him his past ways (the first two weeks of dating) of before being a serious couple. This is the past so please keep it there...... Just my 2 cents.....

how long did it take you to start seeing dramatic weight loss
LiveLoveLaugh replied to punkster's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Good morning as another large loser with 250 pounds to my goal. I wanted to chime in on the process of others noticing the weight loss. People made comments after 50 lbs lost. That was about 6 months out from my band. I have lost 73 pounds and I'm 17 months out from surgery. I also thought I would have lost more weight or wish I have let's say. Yet I'm very happy with what I've gotten off already. It's been a fun game of getting to my sweet spot. I didn't get my first fill until I was 6 months post op due to my own choice since I was losing slow but losing, I then started getting fills and in Jan/09 got a little to much and needed a good portion taken out due to irritation.... I'm now two fills up from Jan. (fill March 24th & May 19th) and just now feeling great that I'm at my sweet spot and I'll start really getting the weight off again. It's a process of hit and miss and noone has the same results or experience. I'm just still so happy I got my band to help me. -

OMG... I didn't make the meeting last night as some of you know who were there. So this is what happened. I get out of work and head over to pick my son up at school after track pratice. He gets in the car and tells me he's not feeling so well. We start heading home and just almost there I hear this gag noice and long and behold he throws up all over the dash board, windshield, me and himself...... I had to make an emergency stop to the side of the road........ OMG we get out of the car and I started gaging so bad and nothing in my pouch it was horrible the tears just ran down my face. My son was so up-set. He's 17 and was really trying to help me. What I can guess is he drank to fast and to much water after working out that it shocked his system and he lost it all. So after we got home we ended up having to clean up the car and air it out all night. It was not fun at all. -

I'm going to be at the meeting tonight. I can feel the restriction and it's good too. We had a small party for my boss.. First time grandma. I had half a small baked potato (no skin) and four/five bites of a tossed salad loaded with veggies. I was content and happy. Really great fill this time around, I want this to last a long time over the whole summer. -

Hello ladies, I had my appointment with Dr. Hoffman today and I lost 3 pounds even with out much restriction since late March. Even with the bad habits coming back the last few weeks like I mentioned. I'm happy with that..... I really thought I would have a gain. NOT!! I did get a fill today of .7cc to tap off what I have, I'm now at 7.7cc in my 10cc band. I can feel the restriction. I made myself some really super thin oatmeal for lunch here at work and only ate have of the made packet. Which took me a half hour. I'm taking it slow very very slow until the fill settles down and I know just how it's going to feel or react to any form of food texture. I know this is going to be a good fill for me already!! It's funny how you learn after a year how the band feels etc... I knew back in Jan. that the 1.5cc was a bit to much but was way over confident to get restriction to fast. Don't be since now it's taken me four months of recovery with two fills to get back to my sweet spot. What I needed in Jan. was to re-think my food choices not a big fill since I was at a good restriction level, I was making the wrong food choices and eating slider type high calorie foods and paid the price. So I'm going to try to make tomorrow evening meeting @ 6:00. -

Good morning ladies, It's me LiveLoveLaugh Cynthia I've been missing in action for some time now and I have to confess to some things. Seems since my partial (large)unfill in Jan/09 from being a bit over filled that day. I'm back to some bad habit's. I'm snacking at night before bed, eating beyond full, eating some slider foods or just not taking the time to think about my choices. At first I thought I won't say anything to the post since I'm a ashamed at admitting to all this, but heck why should I do that??? I need to reach out and ask for some help. I'm standing still in my weight loss at this point, I have some wonderful supporting friends that KNOW JUST HOW I FEEL..... So I'm asking for some help!! I see Dr. Hoffman tomorrow morning @ 8:15 for my second fill since that Jan. unfill. I know I just need to find that sweet spot once again to re-start weight loss once more, just I wish my head hunger was turned off like it was when I had that Sweet spot back in early fall. I believe that the Wed. meeting is this week May 20th? Will anyone be there this week? Thanks for letting me vent...... -
Single Buffalo bandster, female 40. Looking for a great guy to date. Anyone out there?

results not typical

Wow that's awesome!! That's a 4.7 lb loss a week. You go girl. I've been told that it's okay to lose this much as long as your supervised. As you mentioned your doctor is following you on this loss. Any before and after pics. Your the poster child for the Lap-Band. Following the rules and working out..... This is what the band is for the weight loss. It's no different than how the By-pass will have you losing, yet the band is less risky. CONGRATS..... We want pictures...... -

Hey I'm interested in going. Want to share a room? Also Southwest has the flight Friday June 12th return Sunday June 14th for $58. each way $135.00 round trip. I'm game to go with you. Helps with the cost. Let me know. It's me Cynthia Tatta -
Do you have the amount in your band?
-
Step away from the "CHIPS" LOL Yeah I love hard boiled eggs. I buy Eggland's best this is well worth extra cost for the boost they give. I had a fill in Jan. as I lef t the office and went back to work I couldn't keep my saliva down. Over filled, went back and had .50 cc taken out. a week later had problems and he took 1cc out to give it time to heal a bit. Just got a .50cc fill last week 3/24 and have another appointment now for 4/14 to get a tweak more. I'm hoping this will do it for me for awhile. This will take me to 7.5 as I have 7cc now in my 10cc band

I find that during this past winter I stopped working out. That really did me in as far at the scale. My doctor says I've lost a lot of fat yet that scale has stopped dead. I won't allow that to kill the goal I have.... I'm getting out more and walking etc.... This is going to jump start me again. I hate that winter slump. Why I did it have no idea. Shaking it off and getting recharged again!!
-
Welcome. Your doing awesome by the way. I'm back to doing mostly Proteins, I limit my carbs at all costs. I find my body reacts much better and I don't crave very much. I'm back to eating 1500 a day

I am so right with you. It's that darn sneak a bit here there and everywhere. The office has this huge candy dish. Every mini snack size chocolate you can dream of right now with Easter around the corner. I have not touched a bit of it in two weeks. It's just calling me everyday. I won't touch one not one!! I can tell I need a little topper on my fill. I feel hungry about two hours after I eat. I just had a cut up apple after I just ate my meat, cheese and egg lunch. I should be able to last longer than 2 hours. what do you think?
-
Your like me... I have to place it out there or I just blow it off. It's what I call sneak eating and just justify it. I get lazy at making the effort to be accountable for every bite, nibble or item. After all it does add up. Today: Breakfast Hard Boiled egg (1) 80 cal Mid-morning Yogart Yoplait 170 cal lunch Turkey meat 1.5 oz 60 cal cheese 1.0 oz 40 cal egg hard Boiled (1) 80 cal
