4 weeks after 1st visit w/surgeon and NUT... tripped up this week
4everbeautiful replied to jessiquoi's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi jessijuoi First, let me commend you for your great work of losing weight. We ALL have slipped up and fell down hard...but...get back up..QUICK!♡♡ You realized your down fall and admitted to it. Don't torture yourself. One thing I have done is NOT purchase items that are so tempting to me. I have also learned NOT to hang out with (eating buddies) individuals that are not on your journey (supportive, etc.). DON'T kick yourself to hard...YOU CAN DO THIS!!! -
Advil or Aleve every again?
4everbeautiful replied to fccm04's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My question would be.."did you have a sleeve or complete bypass?" Bypass you CANNOT use Alieve/Motrin (NSAIDS). Did you check in with your doctor?? -
Today is the big day!

Advil or Aleve every again?
4everbeautiful replied to fccm04's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My surgical team said to not use Alieve/Advil, etc. for 1 month post op. However, I can take Tylenol. Clearly your medical issues were discussed prior. The best advice is to call the number given to you, should you have questions. Normally there are nurses available to answer questions 24/7. Good luck! -
So depressed right now
4everbeautiful replied to LynM's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Please, as was said do not be too hard on yourself. My surgery is scheduled for next Wednesday (7/30) and my surgical team told me to expect temporary weight gain after surgery. So, hold your head up. Remember, the key word here is "temporary" -

Upcoming Surgery

Thank you much! -
Hello All, I am sharing my story hoping it will help someone. I began researching the success stories of the "sleeve" over two years ago. Both my husband and I began going to a program to prepare ourselves for the "new life", but that particular program/people weren't as pleasant and caring (should say "sympathetic") as we felt they should be as clinicians. Therefore, I/we stopped going. Frustrated of not knowing where to go and who else to turn to...became more frustrating. Trying to make this looooonnngg story short...one day I finally had enough!! I was in so much pain in my body from osteoarthritis that I called an made an immediate appointment with my doctor. Tears streaming down my face, repeating "I cannot take this anymore"!! Immediately my doctor gave me a referral to WLC (weight lose clinic) and I am ever so grateful!!! This journey started approx. 6 months ago. I thought that after my 1st visit with the WL doctor that I was able to have my surgery 2 weeks from that point (don't ask me why I thought that ). Any who, it was the best decision. Because of my arthritis/high blood pressure/acid reflux and some other issues..I was OVER DUE to have this procedure. Well, now both my husband and I will be having our procedures (me first of course and him 4/5 months from now. I am having the sleeve and he is having the gastric bypass. Insurance has approved my surgery!!! My surgery date is on July 30, 2014 at 10:50am!!! We both would like to hang around for quit some time more for our three teenagers (two boys/one girl) ages 15,17 and 19 years of age. Married for 21 years!!! Love him to pieces! So, why not go the rest of this journey together. I chose to share this procedure with just you all/my parents and children. I feel this is a personal decision for each and every one of us. I am in no way ashamed of what changes that will take place...I just will state that I am on a strict diet! Truth, right? Well, people you have been patient enough to read thus far, so I think I will end my journal on this note. "Be proud and understanding of your self always" Thank you
