Hi All I am new to this site and just love everyone's input/suggestions and humor !!! I was banded May 23 in Boston, MA, and so far so good (35 pounds to date) Two things I have been wondering about: 1- why do so many people go out of the country for their bands? Are they not readily available??? 2- why do so many people pay privately??? I thought obesity was a medical condition and therefore covered by insurance? Am I just lucky or what??? Keep Smiling !

It went away with the 5 pounds of hanging fat ! It's really not bad looking at all . I dont ever have to worry about that sweaty belly button smell!!!!!

My question is why was the body guard administering CPR while the NURSE was calling 911? Shouldn't that have been the other way around?????

ok, I live LITERALLY around the corner from the Chateau. We promised to take my son out for chinese food since his big sisters will be at a sleepover and he LOVES chinese. I will see if I can stop by for a drink and a quick hello. Don't wait for me to have dinner, though. I have a date with a 7year old. Hope to see you all tomorrow !!!!!

My dad was 70+ when he had his surgery last April. He has lost 75 pounds, looks and feels great !!!!! Good luck

My dog is a pug named Lou Grant. We just call him Lou. We had another pug who died recently named Ted Baxter. We just called him Baxter.

Ok, the holidays are over so no more excuses. Let's try to get together. I would love to meet so many of you guys from MA and I hope most (if not all) can make this work: 1) Who is interested in getting together? 2) Where do you live and where would you be willing to drive? 3) When would be most convenient for you (days/evenings/weekends) 4) How soon can you do this???? I will try to coordinate and make this convenient so that as many people as possible can come.

John~ nice to meet you as well ! Please do send some before and after pics. Guys usually lose so much faster and seem to have an overall easier time than females. I am interested in hearing how your band journey goes.

I am so impressed w/ Levi and KayDotRN for doing so well and looking so great so soon after surgery (3 weeks). Nana, thanks for making the long trip. I am all for the Braintree Mall area, as it is pretty convenient for me, but what do thers think??? Should we try to plan for Jan 13,th Saturday? Is that too soon for people?

ok, sounds like a Saturday afternoon would work best for people. Now we just need to decide on a date and a place. Looks like we have people from up north (Swansea), west (Palmer) and as far South as Taunton. I am somewhere in between. Where does everyone feel comfortable driving to? Since everyone had their surgery at BIDMC (except ME), is that area favorable? Parking can be a drag right around the hospital, but there are some restaurants in the Route 9 area. Would somewhere right off the highway work out better?
