[color=rgb(51,51,51)][font='Open Sans'][background=rgb(249,249,249)]I'm a 49 year old mother of 4 beautiful children and a loving husband to whom I've been married to for 22 years. I had lap band surgery in June 2009. It worked for the first few years but struggled with side effects the last two years. I experienced choking feeling, gagging, forced or non forced vomiting. I could not sit down and eat with my family. I had to stand to eat, and that usually ended up with a rush to the bathroom.[/background][/font][/color][color=rgb(51,51,51)][font='Open Sans'][background=rgb(249,249,249)]With the band I was hungry or thinking of food or feeding on food that made me feel better. I also encountered acid reflex and slept for a long time sitting up due to reflex. I kept this under wraps from my family and friends for 2 years by down playing my feelings. I did not want to worry them nor did I want to be lectured or "policed". After all these effects I decided with my doctor advise to go forth with having gastric bypass surgery on August 6th. I look forward to being able to go through this with those of you who are going or those who have gone through this already.
