Tomorrow, my entire life CHANGES. :)

Good luck to you. We will be thinking about you and I hope everything goes smoothly. Keep us informed as to how you are doing. -
Ok This 2 shake and 1-meal a day crap is really hard...
Coco6399 replied to mstrina27's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As I sit here this morning, I am drinking my optifast protein drink and I can totally relate with you. My co-worker is sitting here eating...get this... peach cobbler for breakfast. I asked her why and she just shrugged her shoulders and said that it was good. I will tell you right now that I had to walk away. My struggle is to loose these last seven pounds that want to stay with me. Drinking crystal light, protein shakes and chicken broth is all I have eaten the last week and no luck with the weight loss. It's very hard and to have someone constantly trying to provoke you is terrible whether it is intentional or not. I hope you keep the faith and stay the course. -
I love it!!!!! how can I add it to my signature?

You motivate me and I applaud you. Forget the naysayers and their nasty comments. Girl, you Rock!!!!! keep up the good work and lots of hugs to you.

1st Day home - Story for upcoming banders
Coco6399 replied to Freedom2008's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks. I love stories about the positive side of the surgery. Good luck to you on your way to becoming a healthier person. -
I am scheduled to have lapband surgery on May 20th. I love onions and I was wondering if the band will tolerate onions. I have one of those onion shaped cooker and I use it to cook vidalia onions in the microwave. I usually add a little chicken broth, butter and seasoning and cook about five minutes. The onion is fat free and low in calories. Has anyone had problems with cooked onions? :confused2:

Having the worst day
Coco6399 replied to Scarlett O'hara's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Please don't beat yourself up for one mistake. It happens to all of us. I am on a liquid and protein shake diet and I have "cheated" but I get right back on track and the weight is still coming off of me. Keep your head up high, you have nothing to be angry about. You are headed in the right direction. Lots of hugs to you. :smile2: -
Stepping Out On Faith
Coco6399 replied to suggabugga's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey tyme2findme, You are an awesome and a strong person. Thank you for sharing your testimonial to how god is good all the time. Any apprehension I have or will have about being banded has been taken care of right now. I am very touched by your story. My god continue to bless you and your weight continue to come off. My surgery date is may 20th and I am currently doing the protein drinks along with chicken broth and yogurt. I have lost eight pounds since I started and I am now more focused on my goals because I don't have the worry of cooking for my dh because he does the cooking and he is very considerate when he cooks. He will cook just enough for him and when I look at what he is eating, he will ask me if I am o.k. with him eating and I will say yes. I spend most of my time on this forum reading and taking in the different problems and solutions associated with getting ready for surgery and I know that I can stay strong and do it. My name is Angela and I look forward to reading about your progress with the weight loss. god bless you! -
Oh, I definately kept on top of my doctor's office. I called every week and told the coordinator that I needed to know so that I could schedule my sugery with my job. I had to put in for the time off and my job requires at least three notice for the days I needed. I also was told that my PCP letter had not been forwarded to them and when I called my PCP the nurse who had faxed it over back in October told me that she had done it once, but she would do it again. I believe they have so many patients that they forget who is who and misplace paperwork. Anyway, hang in there because in the end the frustration will be so small and looking back I think we will say it was well worth it.

My doctor's office had the nurse fax my letter to my surgeon. This doctor sucks! I agree with Caramia, have your OB/GYN do it for you. Good luck.

Hello. That's wonderful!!! Congratulations. I can tell you are on a high about it so enjoy. Good luck to you.

Does Working-out before surgery help heal u faster?
Coco6399 replied to mstrina27's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
mstrina, How are you on your approval? Are you still waiting for your insurance to approve? You should heal very fast after your surgery because you are dedicated to the healthy lifestyle by working out. I hope you hear something soon. Just call and bug your insurance company or have your doctor do it. Anyway, good luck we are all here and praying for you to get the "call". Hang in there and let us know. Lots of hugs to you. -
Oh Crap, Im approved!!
Coco6399 replied to JadensMomma's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Jadensmom, This rocks!!! Your approval is a good thing. I was approved back in March and I decided to have my surgery on May 20th. Everyday I am excited, confused and terrified all rolled in one. I started my liquid diet today and I am doing great. (ask me tommorow if I feel the same and I might not. lol). I am preparing myself for the new life I am going to have. I really hope you get the support and encouragement from this forum as I have. The people here who have already had the surgery, and shares their experiences and answers our questions about it are awsome. They give good information and I trust them. I am glad I found this forum, and believe me when I have had my surgery I will continue to read and post my experience also. God bless you and lots of hugs and congratulations to ya. -
I am scheduled for May 20th, however, my doctor will not do the surgery if I dont lose 20 pounds. I have lost only six in the last month so far. Can someone give me advise on how to drop this weight. I am afraid that I will not meet my goal and be a failure at this war with my weight as usual. I am panicking because I believe that if I cant do this now, how will I do when I am banded? Can someone please offer me some advise on how I can lose this weight? I will take any advise. Please help anyone!

Has anyone been watching the soap opera Guiding Light? They are running a story line about a female (Ashlee) getting the lap band. She is going through the same things I have been reading on these forums. She got negative comments about the surgery from her mother and told she could just eat less and exercise more. Her boyfriend told her that he loved her just as she was. It's unreal how the storyline hits home with the emotions she is going through with the process. She finally decided to go through with the surgery after second guessing herself due to others thoughts on the surgery. I am now going to watch this soap opera to see how her weight loss progresses. It is said that she had the surgery and it is now being written into the storyline due to the fact she will be dropping weight on the show.

Stupid people and their stupid opinions
Coco6399 replied to spoodles's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too am selective of who I tell about the lap band procedure. I am scheduled for May 20th and I am becoming more excited each day. I just told my boss on Monday and he was so supportive. He assured me that he would do whatever he could to help me and whatever I needed he was there for me. (My boss is over weight and he has diabetes and high blood pressure also). He then told me that after my surgery and and recovery, he would look into the lapband himself. He even asked me about the steps I had taken to become approved. He is totally on board with the surgery and I am thankful for his support. Whew!!! -
I'm approved!! (I think)
Coco6399 replied to Healthy Grandma's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hey, Congratulations! It seems to me that the most exciting part of the process to becoming approved is when you see it in writing. The word "approved" is so powerful in our struggle to become healthier. God be with you and lots of hugs to you and your twin grandchildren who will no doubt have a long time to enjoy you at the zoo and the playground. -
Approved today @ 4pm!!!
Coco6399 replied to awomangodcanuse's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh Happy Day! Congratulations. I will be banded in May also and I know the day will be here before I know it. Can't wait. See you on the thin side. -
FaCiNg ThE tRuTh .....
Coco6399 replied to mstrina27's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is ironic that I read your post tonight because I have been having the same issues as you. I have been approved for my surgery already but I have spent the last three nights sleepless because I am wondering what my friends and co workers will say when I start showing my weight loss. I decided not to tell everyone, just a few select people. A few months before I began the journey into the lap band process, I mentioned it to one of my closest friends who happen to be overweight also. She told me that I should go on Medifast and not go through such a drastic surgery to lose weight(Did I mention to you that about a year ago, she was denied by her insurance company for WLS)? I have just come to the realization after reading your post that I am going to do this for me and think positive thoughts and I cannot wait to start posting my weight loss success! I'm with you on being afraid of losing close friends, but why would they want you to be over weight and unhappy? You are doing this for yourself and your child. I am getting more excited about the surgery and the weight loss as I write this. I truly believe that once your friends begin to see how good you look and how happy you are, they will probably start to ask you questions about your weight loss and maybe look into the surgery themselves. I hope you get the call soon so you can start seeing the results of your weight loss in real instead of in your dreams. Hang in there and continue with the faith. :cursing: -
Ailie, Congratulations! I know you are excited and I am excited for you. Isn't it a great feeling knowing that you are about to begin the journey to becoming healthier? All the best to you.
