I had surgery on Jan. 25. I have lost 65 lbs., I have been going every 4 weeks for my fills. I went yesterday, the lady doing my fill, told me I was or should be at my Sweet Spot, because I only needed a tweek with my band. What does that mean? Just curious, still trying to learn all of lingo that goes with the band. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and good luck to all!

I too, was scared to death. I can promise you, it is the best decision I have ever made in my life. Now, grant it, I thought the first few days after surgery, "What the HELL have I just done to myself". It only lasted a few days. I had surgery on January 25, and I am down 43 lbs. It is all worth it. Good Luck to all of you!!!!

Taking weight loss pills before or after surgery
skculpepper replied to Brandy~'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My surgeon presribed me diet pills after surgery to get me kick started. He encourages it. He gave me the prescription after my post-op visit. He advised to take them a month and then skip a month, then start taking them again. I don't see a problem with it, and it has truly helped. Good Luck!! -
I am new in Texas as well. I was just banded on January 25, 2008. I have my first fill on Feb. 14. I am a little nervous about the fill. I hope I can loose as much as you! Congratulations!!

No, I didn't see the UFO. It has been rather entertaining. Stephenville is a wonderful place to live. I grew up here and graduated from high school, went to Tarleton, moved to Houston and got married, had children, now moved back to Stephenville to be close to my family.

I have Aetna, they do approve the surgery. I will be banded tomorrow, I am so excited!!!

I am just worried it won't work on me. How much weight have you lost? Thanks for the encouraging words, Crishell!

It will be a high protein low fat diet. I had to do the psych evaluation, 3 month weight loss/nutritionist. Also, keep track of exercise and food intake. I was really worried about it, did real well the first month, lost 9 lbs., maintained the second month, and gained 2 lbs. for the third month. I was worried Aetna would kick it out because of that. They didn't and I got approval the week before Christmas. What a wonderful Christmas present. I have my first appt. with Dr. Marsden for pre-op on January 10. Hopefully will be banded in late January or early February.

AIGB called to let me know I was approved, after I finished talking with them, they transferred me to Dr. Marsden's office for the consultation.

I got my insurance approval yesterday. I am so excited. I can hardly believe it. I have an appt. on January 10, with Dr. Marsden (Texas) and they advised I should be able to have the surgery towards the end of January. What a wonderful Christmas and New Year it will be with a "NEW ME".
