My weight is distributed evenly as well, although I do have one really bad problem area - my arms! I don't think there is anything I can do. I exercise like a mad woman and they are getting better. I did buy some wraps for my arms and stomach and I can tell a difference after a few days. I try to sleep in the stomach wrap and put the arm wraps on daily. Oh well, I'll do my best but another surgery is not in the cards for me

Difficult getting enough calories in
tamg26k replied to tripletsmom3's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Just take things one day at a time. Honestly, the first several weeks I didn't focus on calories. I focused on Water, Vitamins, and Protein (in that order) The calories will come. I think I was only averaging about 500 a day up until month 3-4. Now (9 months) I get in about 800-1000 a day. Just focus on eating habits now - slow and small bites! Best of luck!! -
Just take things one day at a time. Remember...walk, walk, walk! It really helps with the healing process. Best of luck!!

@@CowgirlJane Thanks again for the feedback. I still am taking 2 per day. I am 8 months out. I'm about 40 lbs from my goal (down 150 lbs so far). I still supplement my diet with 1 or 2 Protein shakes a day, especially on days I lift weights at the gym. I know that this is way off of this topic but I wanted to ask since you are so far along. How has your diet changed after you hit your goal? Do you take in more calories? Do you watch your carbs? Thanks again for your feedback. Theresa

@@beachgurl84 I actually heard the samething regarding Flinstone chewables. My Dr. said no gummies or Flinstone chewables. I have been taking Centrium chewable and they are alright. I just wanted a change of pace.

@@CowgirlJane Do you drink one or two per day, just curious? I think one packet is the equivalent to one multi-Vitamin. I think I will replace my morning vitamin with the Eco Drink

I have a few things I purchased last week at costco that I truly love (pictures and nutrional info to follow soon) Crumbled real bacon bits - 2 grams of Protein 2 grams of fat...a nice addition to eggs or whatever (a huge bag!) (in the isles) Kalamata olives - a healthy fat...love them in eggs or just as a little side dish to my meal (in the isles) lemon pepper cod - 2 grams of carbs -lots of protein (frozen section) Cusine Solutions fully cooked sliced beef - Delicious! a 3 oz serving has 120 calories 18 grams of protein and 5 grams of fat - comes in 2 bags so easily can be separated (in the refrigerated section) Vitamin b12 - 2500 mcg. (I like the extra kick the higher dosage give me) usually on sale for $10.00 for a large bottle (in the vitamin section) Edamame - Great source of protein and Fiber .I love the these! I eat them almost daily. Just a FYI about 25 of the edamame equal about 1/4 cup of a serving. (in the frozen section) Eco Drink Vitamin Water - I haven't tried this yet but here is the information. Just a change of pace from taking a chewable multi. http://www.ecodrink.com/ecodrink-multi-new-flavors.html (in the vitamin section) Jimmy Dean Turkey Sausage links- I buy these every time I go to Costo. I don't know why but I prefer the links over the patties (in the frozen section) Cashews (in the isles) Babybel (in the refrigerates section) chicken Italian Sausage(in the refrigerated section) Avacados (in the produce section) Unsweetened Coconut milk (in the isles) Rotisserie chicken (White meat) - comes in a really big package that I usually have to freeze the majority of it. (in the refrigerated section) These are just a few of the things that I buy regularly!

@@joatsaint Thank you for the feedback. I will definitely check out the reviews. Unfortunately, I just bought the sample pack. I wanted to give these a try since they didn't contain any sugar alcohols. I usually only eat a Protein bar when I know I won't be able to get a decent meal. I also like Quest bars!

Are you following a Paleo Diet?
tamg26k replied to My Bariatric Life's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@@My Bariatric Life lol! I know they are processed. It's hard to cut out all processed foods...baby steps. I think I'm going to buy the variety pack of these. I like the fact that they are very high in fiber and no sugar alcohols. I was hoping someone tried them to give an opinion. I do eat a Quest bar from time to time but they are not my favorite. We will see what these are like. I'll keep you posted. -
Liquor, Wine or Beer: Alcohol effects
tamg26k replied to inkmartyr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am by no means a heavy drinker, but with that being said, I like to go out from time to time and have a drink. I went to NYC about 1 month after surgery and I asked my Dr. if it was alright to have a drink or two. Just told not to over do it. I had a few cocktails and just stuck to vodka(Grey Goose) and Water. I always got a tall (extra water) and then just mixed in a Water Enhancer. I didn't have any problems whatsoever. I will say that one drink gave me a pretty good buzz. Since then, I had a few cocktails from time to time, always the same- vodka and water with my flavor enhancer. Always in moderation though. I tried a glass of wine and it didn't go down well. Although I've been known as a wine snob in the past (lol) and maybe it was the wine and not me. Pretty much a bummer because I have about 100 bottles of wine in storage. Oh well, wine makes excellent gifts! We don't want to replace one addiction (food) with another (alcohol). Only in moderation. I would steer clear of high calorie cocktails! -

8 month progress pics - 150 lbs down!

@@laneydasilva Awe, thanks! I definitely have problem areas, and I always will - arms and stomach. They are ALOT better but I can tell there will be loose skin. Every other area is really good, not just to say that. My face and neck are really tight - drinking a lot of Water helps with my skin, not so much toning but keeping it fresh. I'm really trying to tone by doing heavy weight training and it is really helping. I have a bit to go and hopefully I can tighten up a few areas. -

First Time Drinking Alcohol Post Op
tamg26k replied to learning to fly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am, in no way a heavy drinker, but I like to go out from time to time and have a few cocktails. I had a trip planned about 1 month after surgery and I asked my Dr. about drinking alcohol. My Dr. said just not to go overboard and see how you feel. I went to NYC and had a few cocktails. I do know that one drink over several hours was plenty. Since then I have a drink every now and then when I'm out and about - vodka and Water in a tall glass that I mix with a Water Enhancer - no carbs and about 80 calories for 1 1/2 oz (not too bad!) I agree, some alcohol is completely off the table for me now. We don't want to replace one addiction (food) with another (alcohol). This is why consuming alcohol is not recommended during the first year. If you think this will become a problem then definitely don't drink. -
I waited almost 4 months after surgery to start an exercise program. At 4 months I joined a gym, got myself a personal trainer, and started working out about 5-6 days a week. Cardio and weight training. I a so glad I did! I've lost about 25 total inches and 10% of body fat since working out the last 3 1/2 months. Now, it is just part of my day!
