This is why I rarely weigh myself!
tamg26k posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I usually only weigh myself at my doctor appointments, which up to this point have been about every month between my PCP and surgery center. So yesterday I started back to the gym and knew that they would weigh and take measurements. I weighed myself in the morning on my home scale but knew it wasn't accurate. I was weighed in the afternoon and the gym, then again this morning at my doctor office (PCP). Three weigh-ins within 24 hours and 3 different weights! 2 of them were 10 lbs. apart! Not really a big deal, I try not to stress out about weighing myself, but trying to get an accurate reading from time to time. I'll go with the lowest weight and go with it!! lol -

Thanks! @@proudgrammy I just find it really strange that there is that big of a margin in scales. Probably done to make us crazy!! I'll stick with rarely weighing myself and go by how my clothes fit. -
What was your most recent NSV? (non-scale victory)
tamg26k replied to tamg26k's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Not so much of a NSV for today, but one in general - I no longer get headaches. I used to get them pretty frequently but I can honestly say that I haven't had a headache of any sort for over 4 months! Maybe it is giving up caffeine or eating better, I don't know which, I just know I am headache free! -
Until I got to be about 6-7 weeks post op I ate bananas with a little Peanut Butter and some pineapple that I blended in my Ninja. I didn't worry too much about the carb count then I just wanted to eat a fruit that I could tolerate and keep down. I stopped the pineapple because I found it too sweet. Now 4 months post op, I do watch my carbs pretty closely and have switched to just eating berries as my fruit. Strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, etc. I try to have a few berries at Breakfast and lunch. Eventually I'll start incorporating more fruits into my diet. Right or wrong, this is what I do. Best of luck!

I also have a hard time figuring out the amount of food at each meal. I've pretty much settled on about 4 oz. or so (sometimes less) per meal and I eat 3 meals per day and no snack. Although, since rejoining a gym this week I started to take in a bit more Protein in the morning by adding a scoop to a cup of decaf coffee around 6:30 then I have a protein Breakfast around 8:30-9. As far as lunch and dinner I usually weigh out about 2.5-3 oz. of lean meat then eat another ounce of veggies and berries combined. This has been my regimen for the past 4 months. Right or wrong, it's worked pretty good for me so far so I plan on sticking to it for a few more months. Best of luck!

You can find a lot on Pinterest. Just search for bariatric recipes. I tweak them a bit, but you get a lot of really good ideas. Best of luck! -

Anyone tried won ton wrappers?
tamg26k replied to DarthVixen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@DarthVixen Keep us posted. They are on my shopping list for Sunday. I was going to line a few muffin tins with them and add chicken and taco seasoning and a bit of cheese and bake them one night next week. The only problem is I can only eat one and they might not be good the next day. We will see. -
I've have seen a lot of members add different things to the bottom of their ticker, quotes, websites, progress recaps, etc and am wondering how this is done. I must me missing something.

I started back to the gym this week and had my first session with my personal trainer today. Thinks went really well. We are set to meet weekly at least through the end of the year. Looking forward to my next session. Since I rarely go out to restaurants anymore, I'm able to afford the trainer! That's a win win!!

Caffeine and Weight Loss Surgery: Not a Good Partnership
tamg26k replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
I gave up caffeine back in April. Never much of a coffee drinker, but I could put away a few Diet Cokes! I was told the carbonation could stretch out my pouch. I don't even miss it! -
Rejoined the gym yesterday and had my first training session today and it went really well! Looking forward to tomorrow!!

I had RNY in July through My New Self and am doing pretty good. I have yet to attend a support group but was hoping to find a good one to attend.
