I Find Out Today If I Have A Slip

Thats alot of money and time invested in your band. From your ticker i see your almost at your goal weight. My best advice to you if you do have a minor slip and do get emptied would be to use your will power and own judgement that you have devwloped thus far with your band to try and keep yourself from over eating and gaining weight back. i know its easier said then done I wish you tons of luck and im sending you possitve thoughts. xoxoxo

How Much Doubt (If Any) Did You Experience?

I decided on the lap band because I wanted a more slower natural weight loss. I wasnt ready to let everyone know i had lapband surgery and once you have the bypass or sleeve the weight comes off faster then the band. Plus the idea of having my stomach cut, stapled and moved around made me feel uneasy. I have had my band since July of 2009 and i love my band!! it has been the best tool to use. I will admitt that i havwnt used it to its full potential as i have had a baby and gained weight but the beauty of the band is that theres no real failure if you fall off the wagon in terms of not loosing weight you can just restart it at any time! Hope this made sense to you. Please feel free to inbox me any questions you might have.

    Soda....,

I could drink soda until my last fill a month ago. I wanted a rootbeer so i had about a cup. Needless to say it was the most painfully pain i have ever felt. My stomach hurt so bad! Not worth the pain so i just stay away from soda all together.

I also ended up pregnant months after i was banded. I lost 40 pounds after surgery and gained about 30 back after giving birth. I also have a dialated edophogus which allowed me to over eat. Ive been back to my dr and recieved a fill bringin me up to 5.5 ccs. I also use my fitness pal to log my calories and do stleast an hour of exercise. Its sooo much harder this second time around but it can be done!! Ive lost 10 pounds since april 19th. I would love to keep in contact with u to see how you are progressing.

    Hi

I love my band and wouldnt have it any other way. The road is not an easy one and rather slow but like its said,"anything worth having is worth fighting for!" Please know that theres forums are fi;lled with tons of people in the same boat as you and instead of being affraid ask questions! One is affraid of the unknown and uncertain fill yourself with knowledge, research and people who have been threw it instead of thinking fears. Good Luck!!

Ok,made The Call Now Im Nervous...

Congrats on taking this step into the right direction. Sending you well wishes.
  18. Yes! Avoid those foods all together. Listen to your band . These foods can cause you great complications if you throw them up on a regular basis. You can cause a slip. You can also learn to eat around your band allowing yourself to continue forcing your "stuck" foods down which wouldnt make the band as effective as it should be! The pain i get with stuck foods is VERY UNPLEASENT and not even worth eating to me. I stay away from them.

    C-Section Vs. Lap Band Recovery

Lap band in 2009 and c section in 2010. C section was by far the worst of the 2. I needed more help doing things after the csection. My insicions for the lapband didnt really hurt except for the biggest one where the port was placed.

    Mentor Needed

TYM4me im from western mass also north adams to be exact! @byrd i also can eat anything except for breads, soda, and any types of cakes that are 'fluffy" and dry. They make me REALLY sick so i stay away from them right now i had a fill april 19th im at 5.5ccs in a 10.cc band. i felt restriction the first 2 weeks and now im slowly loosing that feeling, i dont over eat i portion out my 1/2 c of food and eat my Protein as directed. for the last 2 weeks my daily diet has been basically protein and salad! i average about 1,000 to 1,200 calories a day sometimes less. Ive lost weight since my newest fill and am currently 10lbs from my lowest point after surgery. I also have a dialated esophogus due to over eating during my pregnancy. LONG story i moved away from ma to nyc and no dr would touch my band because they hadnt done the actual surgery. so i over ate and gained. I moved back to ma and have been seen by my dr hence the fill. For exercise i admit im not running to the gym everyday for hours on end. I put my daughter in her stroller and i walk the track 4 laps which is equal to a mile a few times a week. hoping for nicer weather so we can get out and do more and step it up. So i guess one of the few questions i have are: how many calories am i suppose to be eating a day? how many grams of protein? still only 1/2c portions of can i up to a full cup? what other foods can i enter into my diet for variation? Is eating salads really the way to go? Thanks so much and i will add you im also on my fitness pal as Dablockzprbabii as well
