GENEPRO http://www.musclegen.net/ .... this is oderless and tasteless and does not clump. You can add it to hot or cold....or just sprinkle over your food. This stuff is great. One tablespoon equals a scoop of whey and has 30 grams of Protein. It is approved by John Hopkins and has 96% absorbtion. You can also order it from Amazon. I fix a Crystal Light and add an scoop.....keep it on my desk and sip on it all day. You can order samples from their site at http://www.musclegen.net/ . Just click shop and it is listed as "Genepro Sample Pack". You get two 1TB pouches which are 30g of protein each. They are currently $2.00 each pack plus shipping.

You need to get up more and move around. The longer you wait between intervals the more it will hurt. I know you don't want to hear this right now but you have to get up and move. I had my family pulling me up and down at first, then I didn't want to depend on them. Had my husband to move a wooden rocker into the livingroom that was higher and easier for me to get out of. I hurt for a good while....even thought something was wrong. Then one day I woke up and did not hurt anymore........NUT told me that it was a trial and error to find what you can eat. I didn't think I would ever get where I could eat anything. Soup became my best friend. Just remember to eat slow (use a baby spoon if possible so you will take smaller bites) and chew chew chew. -

Sometimes eggs are hard to tolerate. I tried a poached egg several times....then tried a scrambled and could not do either. I now can do a soft center fried egg....I use a non stick pan, but I had a DS and we call this a slider food. You might want to thin the beans out at first. I had to make mine nearly soupy to tolerate. It is a good protein source and you can add cheese. -
Weight loosing stall
TEXASLADY52 replied to reboundlife2014's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It will shock you one day like it did me and drop on the scale. For right now stay off the scales....they are not your friend. I try to weigh on once a week so I won't be disappointed. As long as you are dropping sizes it is working. When someone asks me how much weight I have lost....I just say I don't know....haven't been to the doctor lately??? That way I don't have to explain anything! -
Weight loosing stall
TEXASLADY52 replied to reboundlife2014's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The first month you need to concentrate on healing. If you do everything you are suppose to do the weight will come off. We put our body through a lot. I also felt like I was loosing slower than everyone else.....I stopped and realized....well they are 20 years or more younger than me and I have bad knees and not exercising like they are. I went thru a 6 week stall. I was so disappointed and frustrated....scared it was not going to work for me. During this time I was loosing inches. Write everything down (I use My Fitness Pal), make sure you are getting your Protein and Water in. I was constantly told to up my protein for weight lost. Couple of weeks ago I went to the Dr. and had dropped 23 lbs in two weeks. Then this morning I weighed 8 lbs less. WooHoo! I found the shakes I was drinking were also full of sugar......this will make a difference. I made sure I didn't eat anything white....bread, potatoes and rice. If we don't watch it....while we are discouraged.....we will start snacking on the things that got us this way!!! Good Luck on your journey. Just keep telling yourself you can do this!!! -
I was getting a Herbalife shake in the morning and adding my Protein to it. I thought I was doing good and getting in 60 grams of protein. Then my NUT told me that your body can only absorb 25 grams of protein at one time. I needed to spread my protein out more through the day. I also was on a long stall.....checked the Herbalife (I was getting a Chunky Monkey).....according to My Fitness Pal it had 50 grams of carbs!!!!! I just use GENEPRO to get most of my protein in now.

Question for people who use Genepro protein powder
TEXASLADY52 replied to Amyly2n's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I am on my fourth bag. I love it. You can add it to anything and it does not change the drink or food. I add it to coffee and I mix it with Crystal Light to get my Water and protein in. You can smell it in the bag, but I do not detect it in what I mix it with? -

Happy! I have been on a stall forever!!!! I have been real sick with upper respiratory infection. I guess it took this to break my stall!

It has been sixteen weeks since my surgery. I have lost weight very slowly and have been on a stall seems like forever. In fact I keep going up and down five pounds or so!! I have not had any follow up blood work. I went in and saw my cardiolist and he did blood work up. He said my thyroid (I don't have one) is low, Homocysteine level is elevated, Glucose is high and I have a Vitamin D deficiency. Would this keep me from losing weight?

Finally found a Protein that I could get down and keep it down and actually like! Yea! I am finally getting in all of my protein. I ate a whole poached egg for the first time this weekend without it making me sick! I was able to eat little less than a 1/2 cup for lunch Saturday and Sunday! This is an accomplishment......all I had been able to handle was a tablespoon at a time and I am seven weeks out??? I even ate an 1/2 of a chicken salad sandwich today and it did not make me sick........feeling so much better!!!

I cannot tolerate the sweet and I have never liked sweet drinks. Even the Greek Yogurt has tons of sugar in it. Weight Loss Struggle Presurgery Question
TEXASLADY52 replied to Dragon Fly's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I will soon be 62 and my surgery was in June. I still have the same fears. After looking at what everyone else has lost....I get thinking I am losing so slow. I know we are all different but you can't help but wondering "WHY"? I have lost the same 30 times 12.....I have one point in my weight I reach and I won't go any lower and then I gain it back. I am at that weight now and have been on a six week stall! I know we all go through stalls, but I am praying this weight comes off and this will be the last time. I keep thinking one morning I am going to wake up and I have conquered this Nemesis!! Good Luck....I am sure you will do great! -
Honest truth about genepro protein powder
TEXASLADY52 replied to PittsburghRNYgirl9814's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Message me your email and I will send you what they sent me.... I asked the same question about the 30 in a tabkespoon -
Good article......did just what it said. I got printout of what my insurance would require and used it as a checklist. I called the Dr. and got copies (they sent them on a CD)of my medical records. I work with a dietician...got her to fill out all of the paperwork that I had been on a supervised diet. I walked in on my first visit with a big folder of all my papers......the insurance clerk was lost for words....stated that she had never had a patient to walk in with all the paperwork.

Honest truth about genepro protein powder
TEXASLADY52 replied to PittsburghRNYgirl9814's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I love it! I could not get my Protein in without. I have always drinked Protein shakes but after surgery I got where I could not choke them down. The chaulky taste just got to me! I tried Isopure and the after taste was more than I could handle. I have a cabinet full of different protein wheys....cannot take them! I am on my third bag of Genepro! I drink it mixed with Crystal Light lemonade, put it in oatmeal, coffee....etc. I keep a bag in my car...so I can always mix me a drink on the go. You can call the number on the website and they will send you a sample. You can also order it from Amazon. -
I was denied coverage by the insurance company due to the employers clause
TEXASLADY52 replied to jenjen1653's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I know how disappointed you are. I work for the State of Texas and we had a clause on our insurance for years. Only the legislator could change it. They tried and tried to get them to until finally they agreed to take the clause away, but they put a $13,000 cap for life on it. I had to pay a lot out of pocket and the bills just keep coming in. -
Thanks everyone......I have been so discouraged! My activity level is low.....I have bad knees and I have a hard time walking. I sit behind a desk all day. I have an ellipitcal peddlar under my desk that I use during the day. I try to keep my calories 800-900. I track everything in My Fitness Pal. Even my husband comments that he does not see how I could not lose no more than I eat..... Yesterday for sample: B- oatmeal with a scoop of Protein L- Beef Procupine Meatball, two tablespoons of mashed potatoes, 1 tablespoon of green Beans D- Protein shake
