    Second Thoughts

Putty, You did it! I can't wait until it is behind me. My Surgery is Nov. 16th. But I hadn't thought that I could have axiousness right after the surgery. I'm glad you brought it up. Now I'll be prepared for these feelings should they arise. As far as doubts, every other day I question myself as to whether I should do this. Then I remind myself of the alternative. Stay heavy and keep getting heavier and keep having health problems. And besides that, all the messages I've read reinforce that they love the band and would not go back. We do have to do our part with this tool, but it will be so much easier to do with the band. I assume surgery went well and your doing fine otherwise? Just start healing and keep getting the support you need from this site. I look forward to hear how you're doing.

    Major case of nerves today

Good luck with your surgery. I know things will be fine. We I get anxious about it I just think how great it will be to wake up and start my new life. It's the waiting for the surgery that is the hardest. And don't think about how they do the operation. Just remember they know what they're are doing and it is a fast surgery. You will be awake in no time and wonder what you were worried about.

    Self pay so moving fast

I get myself all wrapped up around the axel about surgery myself. Let's face it, who wants to go thru it? From everything I've read, it's a breeze. It is a very low risk surgery and only takes about 25 minuetes! That's less time than your favorite sitcom. It'll take a full hour with prep time. But the actual surgery only 25 minuetes! That's amazing. Being overweight has more health risk than the surgery. I don't know about you, but I want to alleviate all those health problems and aches and pains that I have now and start living again! You won't die during surgery! No worries. Just focus on the moment you wake from surgery and your exciting future!

    Any Regrets?

Thanks for explaining your friends circumstances. I've heard of others having this surgery and not losing! I cetainly don't want to make the same mistake as them. I'm assuming from this that if you eat sensibly and chew throughly the band should work for you so that you can fill full on 600 calories or so?

    Any Regrets?

I'm not banded yet, but I'm scheduled for Nov. 16th. I'm curious how your friend doesn't lose weight with the band. Doesn't it constrict her flow so she can't possibly eat the way, or as much she used to? What are the secrets to optimizing your weight loss with the band?
  7. Penni, I see you were disbanded a couple of years ago from a rare rejection, but you are still an active member of this site. I was wondering what kept you motivated to continue to be an active member of this site? How are you doing now?

    Hello Everyone!

Welcome, This is a great site. I'm not banded yet, but I learned a tremendous amount here.
  9. Hi, I'm not banded yet, next month, most likely with Dr. Kuri. So I can't answer your question about the back. Hopefully someone will get back to you soon. My question to you is, does Dr. Kuri stitch the stomach area to prevent slippage? I heard that was the best thing for Doctor's to do. Also, can you tell me of your experience with Dr. Kuri?? Anything you can will be helpful. I am on the fence in deciding on 2 doctors. Dr. Kuri or Dr. Ortiz
  10. thanks! that explained it well.
