going out to eat for the first time this weekend
SDBeachLaw replied to SDBeachLaw's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
The pizza went well. I have been having issues with vomiting randomly... one thing is okay one day, then not the next. She is doing okay. Was in the ICU for 5 days, then home for 2 weeks. She has gone back to work, but is still having some issues with memory, vision, and stamina. Seems to be gettign better slowly. She is an MBA and has a fairly rough job (demanding) so she withers on the vine in the afternoons. -

Thanks. Trying to be positive. The only real issue is that we wont know anythign about any long lasting effect or disability until after the surgery and the swelling goes down. Feel better. Miso Soup broth saved me in the first week. -

So... long story but. My son is coming into town for my wife's brain surgery on the 11th. Our plan is to take them to a local pizza place to eat after we pick them up from the airport. (its really cool, good, and on the harbor here in SD). So far, I have eaten all the components of the topping of pizza, I.E. cheese, marinara sauce, tomato, etc... Thoughts on just scraping the top off a piece and eating it so they dont feel self conscious about eating ifo me? BTW, her tumor is beingn, it it just big and needs to come out. Prognosis is 100% recovery and only 2 days in the hospital -

how do take meds right after surgery?
SDBeachLaw replied to MaureenS's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
You know... I went from about 1 metric ton of pills to keep me out of pain, keep me alive, keep me up, keep me down, counteract the side effects of other pills, and vitamins and supplements.... to three pills. I just take them each morning with my breakfast shake. Whole. -
Surgery was on July 21. I have been feeling good since I left. i do seem to get tired pretty easily, but I bounce back. I was in class for the last two weeks, but now that I am out I will be doing more than just working on the garden and walking around the neighborhood. At least until regular school starts back Aug 18.

So... I had my RNY on 7-22, I left the hospital yesterday 7-25. Everything seems to be going okay. not much pain, slept like a rock. Not hungry... at all... I have been able to keep up woth the H2O intake and Protein drinks. About the only craving I have is for coffee.... i'd kill for a cup of coffee... and scrambled eggs with cheese Tom
