Those hiccups sound miserable!!
-
I've also had two c-sections. So, you should be a pro at the "log roll" to get in and out of bed. Most of my pain at first was under my diaphragm, and it was gas pain. They were giving me gas meds four times per day, so that helped. Then, I strained one of my incisions and that's been my pain point for the last few days.

That time of the month...and catheter?
Quest4TheNewMe replied to dashofsunshine's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't have a catheter. -
The only nasty bruise I have is from having an IV removed after getting a shot of lovenox... No one will notice the lovely bruise when I go back to work on Thursday, right??? :/

What percent of stomach was taken?
Quest4TheNewMe replied to kimpossible67's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
That's all I was told too, that it's about the size of a banana. In the end, does the exact portion removed really matter? -
Going back to work
Quest4TheNewMe replied to Disney24fan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm only taking a week, but that means I go back to work on Thursday. I didn't go the FMLA route, I just took a week of PTO. I have a full day on Thursday and then a 1/2 day on Friday, due to my post-op appointments being Friday afternoon. Thankfully next week is only a 3 day week.... I'm hoping I can just power through. I work a desk job, so hopefully that will help. My boss is the only one who knows I had surgery and he doesn't know what kind of surgery I had. -
Hungry or All in my mind
Quest4TheNewMe replied to ngoycoanaya's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't think anyone has mentioned it in this post yet, but typically day #3 of the liquid diet tends to be a bit of a turning point in regards to your body adjusting to it. I struggled the most on day #2, and by day #4 is was more a battle of what my head wanted, rather than actually feeling hungry. -
On my way to the hospital for the big day!

Good luck! You'll be on the other side before you know it! -
How Often Do You Weigh Yourself?
Quest4TheNewMe replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I weigh daily but I haven't stepped on the scale since surgery last Thursday. -
I was cleared to drive as long as I wasn't taking the narcotic pin meds. Had surgery last Thursday and drove to the grocery store and to pick up my daughter from school today.

When does the risk of DVT decrease?
Quest4TheNewMe posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't know why, but the risk of DVT really has me nervous. I was sent home with compression stockings and I was given lovenox shots while I was in the hospital. When I'm not walking, I make sure to keep my legs/feet moving, in hopes of keeping the blood moving. It's just something weighing on my mind. -
When does the risk of DVT decrease?
Quest4TheNewMe replied to Quest4TheNewMe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks, that's scary! I've had two c-sections and my gall bladder removed and never had an issue. I also have weight, age, and genetic history in my favor. Good to know that it's still a very real possibility though. -
Scared of Pain:(
Quest4TheNewMe replied to nmorenol's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My gas pains really weren't in my shoulder, they were in my diaphragm, but they gave me gas meds four times per day and sent me home with gas meds. -
Scared of Pain:(
Quest4TheNewMe replied to nmorenol's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm a baby when I'm in pain. I've been taking my pain meds and I'm doing okay. If you're uncomfortable, don't be afraid to take the meds, that's what you have them for. I have one incision that's pretty sore but otherwise I actually feel really good. Of course, most movement strains that one sore incision. But each and every day is better. I'm only four days post-op. -
6 days out and ate food
Quest4TheNewMe replied to kickem08's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I can't wait until I get to the point that I can eat refried beans. Yum! I'm on clear liquids for the first 9 days. -

Any November Sleevers?
Quest4TheNewMe replied to Ladybird06's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story

Post op with toddler?
Quest4TheNewMe replied to frizzylizzie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My son just turned 3 and so far it's been going okay. I told him that he can't sit on me but he can sit next to me and so far that's been going well. We'll see how long that lasts. Ha! -
Did anyone NOT tell their job about surgery?
Quest4TheNewMe replied to VGB's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did not tell work. I took a week of PTO and I hope I'm ready to go back on Thursday. :/ -
Sleeving Today! November 17th!
Quest4TheNewMe replied to MS_Science_Sleever's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good luck!! I was sleeved last Thursday. You'll feel better each day! -
It's probably better if you don't put everything nearby, because walking to go get it will be good for you. Just try to not have to pick up your little.... I'm not supposed to lift over 10 lbs for two weeks. Thankfully my youngest is 3 yrs old, so I don't need to carry him hardly ever.

I live south west of you, on the north side of the cities and we got slammed early last week... They're talking about a warm up next weekend though.

I'm three days post-op and things keep getting better every day. Good luck, you'll be on the other side before you know it!

I have one incision that's super sore (right hand side, near my belly button). Otherwise, I feel like I'm doing okay. Water and broth seem to be going down okay and the gas pains are fairly minimal at this point. I'm pretty tired but otherwise feeling better day by day. I came home yesterday (Saturday).
