    Its here!

I'm glad things went well for you! It's encouraging for people like me who have yet to get a surgery date. I wish you continued good health!
  4. I agree with Racewalker....take your pain meds more frequently! The pain meds are meant to control your pain! Use them as prescribed so you can get some relief!

    Death and sadness.

I can't imagine the pain of losing a child! I've got 3 daughters and I know I would be devastated if anything happened to them! Anyway, my oldest brother died of a heart attack in I think August of 2007. My youngest brother died 7 months after that in a motorcycle accident. Then my mom passed only 8 days later. I've never really recovered from being hit with all three of those so close together, but since then I've lost my sister, also to a heart attack. Losing loved ones so close together is really difficult to get over. ((hugs))

    Anyone for November?

I have medicare as well and the coordinator at my surgeon's office said they could submit to insurance after 3 months. Could it be there's another reason for the 6 month wait? Or is it different requirements in different states or something?
  14. I started my list and then lost it, dang it! Here goes again....in no particular order. 10. Perform personal hygiene without being a contortionist (TMI I know, sorry) 9. Going to get-togethers and not being embarrassed in front of my daughter's in-laws. 8. Getting off my blood pressure meds. 7. Climbing into bed without having to hook up to the CPAP machine. 6. Climbing stairs without getting out of breath. 5. Going up and down stairs and walking in general without knee pain (hopefully). 4. Not isolating myself in my apartment anymore. 3. Wearing normal sized, cute clothing. 2. Shopping without having to sit down. 1. Maybe dating again?

    New Food For Post Ops...

Sorry to keep you busy with this, but could I get the list as well. ida_jo_7@yahoo.com Thanks in advance.
  16. My BMI is around 55. And I agree with woo woo. Try something with more Protein, less carbs in the morning and see if that lasts longer for you.
  17. I'm sorry they put this road-block in your way, but you CAN do this! Eat small meals every 3-4 hours. It'll boost your metabolism. Start now with eating fewer carbs and getting in plenty of quality protein! You have to wait the 6 months anyway. You may as well be using that time to get the excess weight off! Drop the defeating self-talk! Stay positive and keep coming on here for support! I have faith in you. You CAN do this!!

    unable to keep down liquids

Wow Leena, you have had a rough go of it! I really hope your problems are all resolved soon. Going back into the hospital might not be such a bad thing. Could help you get past these problems. Good luck to you.

    Surgery TOMORROW!

Best of luck to you and I'll be looking forward to hearing about your progress after!
  20. I haven't been through it yet, but I think being especially tired is normal during the first couple of weeks. I think it'll resolve soon. And I hope your pain resolves soon as well.

    surgery 7days away

CrashNCamsMom, I can't believe a nurse would do that to you! That's very unprofessional behavior! Of course complications happen from time to time, but I truly believe that's the rare occurrence. You've made up your mind to do this, now you have to have faith in your surgeon. If you don't, it might be a good idea to talk to your surgeon again or something. I'm just really disappointed in that nurse.

    Divorce

Congratulations on regaining control in your life and leaving an obviously unhealthy relationship! I too left an unhealthy relationship about 10 years ago. I hadn't yet had WLS, but I still understand your point of view. It's all about regaining control over some part of your life and doing what's best for you and your daughters. You'll still go through a "grieving" process, because you're leaving behind someone who's been part of your life, even if it's been bad. I took my daughters and moved out and it was the best thing I could have done. I've never regretted that decision. Best of luck to you and your daughters.

    Kidney issues

I would check with your doctor sooner rather than later! Kidneys are nothing to mess with. You don't want to risk losing kidney function.
