I’ve twice looked into VSG, once selfpay in Mexico, once in Seattle. I did not follow through with either because I did not want to deal with surgery and then a plane flight with no access to my doctor when I returned to anchorage. I didn’t at the time like my surgeon options in Anchorage but now there is a highly recommended bariatric surgeon in town. I am also now leaning toward RNY since it seems to me the stats are better and it’s been around longer, so more is known about the long term success rate.
