That's awesome!! The main reason I did this was so I would feel better. Not so much look better, although that's a major plus, but I feel so much better!!! I never enjoyed shopping before, now I love it! Congrats and I wish you continued success!!

Down a little more than 100lbs. Still losing, but it's slowed a lot. I've found myself slipping with my diet now and again. Its hard getting all the protien in with out supplements, but I can't handle anything with artifical flavors anymore. Lots of fresh meat and veggies. That's great!!! I think most of us have slipped now and then. I know I'm guilty of it. When you are still losing, it's easy to slip. I'm with you on the protein thing. I can't tolerate most of the protein supplements, so I have to stick to meat and dairy. I wish you continued success!!!

Just remember everyone is different. Listen to your body. Protein first. Eventually, it will become " normal". Some people are able to tolerate some of their favorites (though at a much smaller portion) others not at all. Some don't even try to tempt fate. Only you know you. Dig deep and listen to yourself. What is most important to you? -

I'm almost a year out and have lost 100lbs. I don't cut out carbs, but it's almost habit to get protein in first and carbs if I have room. I've found that I can't tolerate certain foods, carbs included. But, without even thinking I'm always looking for protein first. Once you have your protein, you're usually too full for carbs. It becomes habit. Eventually, you won't even have to think about it. That's the goal, lifestyle change. I was a carbohydrate addict before. Now, protein is primary, carbs are an afterthought.

Almost a year out and hair loss has returned to normal. I'm seeing new growth, so I'm confident my hair will return to more of its natural thickness within a year *???? -

Updates? How's everyone doing? Getting through the holidays? Still losing? Any struggles? I'm doing good. Finally said yes to an invitation to go out and felt comfortable in my skin again. It was nice. I'm still working on getting all my meals and Protein in, but I think I knew that would be my biggest challenge. At this point, I'm definitely happy that I went through with the surgery. (Even considering the financial burden it ended up causing me. Long story) I'm hoping that everyone else has had a positive experience as well. Best gift you can give yourself and your loved ones. Does everyone experience hairloss?

My stylist recommended a product called Nioxin. It had great reviews and all of her clients that use it swear by it. Gonna give it a shot. Can't hurt. ☺ I'll let you know if I see results -
Does everyone experience hairloss?

I'm 4 months out and losing hair faster than pounds. I'm ok with my weight loss so far, down 64 lbs overall. But, I was worried about Hair loss and now I'm seeing it. I have about medium thick hair, so hopefully it won't be too noticeable. I did have a lapse in taking my vitamins and don't always get all my protein in. I can't stomach supplements so I have to rely on what I get from food. I'm so relieved to read that it tapers off and starts regrowing. I kinda like my hair ☺ my hair has always been one of my best features. Lol -
I went through the same doubts shortly before my surgery. Started getting cold feet, worried I'd end up with long term issues that I wouldn't have had if I'd not gotten surgery. But, I'm over two months out (wouldn't exactly call myself a veteran though☺) and I almost feel like having surgery was a dream. No complications, no issues, no regrets. The only difference is that my lifestyle has changed. I no longer feel that hunger I had before, like I was starving. I eat much smaller portions and feel satisfied. I don't eat fattening and sugary foods. And, I'm down 48 pounds so far. It is a lifelong commitment if you want to stay successful. But, that's why all the other diets fail right? At least for me. The surgery makes it a lot easier to make long term lifestyle changes. I was afraid I'd miss so many of my favorite foods, but I don't. Everyone is different and no one can guarantee no complications. But, the complications are rare. Talk to your surgeon, go to a support group meeting. Those things helped ease my mind before surgery and I'm happy I went through with it. ☺

Protein Supplements After Weight Loss Surgery: Yes or No?
CrashNCamsMom replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
I've discovered that I can no longer tolerate the flavor of any protein supplement. Preop, there were quite a few that I could tolerate and even liked. But, now I can't stomach any of the shakes or protein bars. No matter how sweet or how much they taste like a candy bar, all I taste is the protein and it makes me gag. I don't know what happened. Needless to say, I am having some trouble getting in enough protein. Had anyone else experienced this? -
Ahhhh! I'm so excited for such a stupid reason! I can cross my legs!! Like a lady!! I never thought that would be a big deal, but it made my night. :-)

HW 229 SW 217 CW 188 People are starting to notice, which is both good and bad. I don't really want to share with everyone what "my secret" is, because I don't want to deal with the whispers. But, I am a bad liar, so if I'm asked outright I don't lie. It's nice to come on here and read about and talk to people who know what I'm going through. It's very comforting. I absolutely have no regrets. I just don't want to screw this up.

It's so strange. They warned me though. I just can't wrap my head around how different it is for everyone. Some things I thought would definitely make me sick didn't and other stuff I thought would be fine ended up making me sick. I LOVE sushi, but I only used to eat it maybe 3 times a year, if that. I hope I can still eat it, just not nearly as much if it. No more all you can eat for me!! Lol
