FedUpwithBeingFat replied to *Lexie*'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@une nouvelle vi OMG.....this is me......a diet coke fiend!!!!! Your tips for "kicking the habit are SUPERB!!! I hadn't thought of "tapering off"......thank you for posting these fantastic tips! -
@@sleeveme4152 I am self pay in Mississippi. 4 years ago the price was 29,000. I put off the surgery due to the price. The costs of B. Surgery has gone WAY DOWN!!!!! I'm hoping for a September Surgery Date and got the self-pay information at the initial group meeting in July. It is 12,500. There are 2 surgeons in this group. One has been doing these procedures for years and has an IMPECCABLE reputation. He is nearing retirement age so 2 years ago he brought in a younger surgeon. This new surgeon did his residency at Cleveland Clinic. (Highly respected for Weight Loss Surgery Research, etc.) I think you could research places that have more reasonable rates yet still have EXPERT and EXPERIENCED surgeons. Good luck with your search!

@@Mrs.RRn Your transformation is nothing short of AMAZING!!!!!!! How long did it take you to lose this much weight? You look very young. So smart to address this now. Any tips or advice for others to be successful? Have you had any cravings? Any temptation to cheat on your eating plan? Are you exercising? What type of exercise, if so? You should be so proud of yourself!!!!

FedUpwithBeingFat replied to Waiting4Sleeve's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@ I'm hoping for a September surgery date. Your idea about the BIG CALENDAR is fantastic! Also the collection of new recipes. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. That's what I enjoy so much about this site. -
It's been a while since I came back last! (4months post-op+photos)
FedUpwithBeingFat replied to jessybear's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
@@jessybear Thanks for your quick reply. What were the P.T. visits for pre-op? Did they concern proper exercise? So interesting b/c I haven't heard of this stipulation. I have the same amount of weight to lose as you and i am SO ENCOURAGED to see how quickly you lost it......I am constantly being told that I will lose very slowly b/c I don't have 100++++ pounds to lose. You are my inspiration!!!! -
Has anyone revised from Plication to Gastric Sleeve?
FedUpwithBeingFat posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hi.....I'm wondering if anyone has had a revision from Plication to a Gastric Sleeve? I had Plication surgery 4 years ago and have very little restriction. I've gained all my weight back and am considering a VSG. Just wondering if this is possible with scar tissue, etc. from Plication. Let me know if you have any info on this topic. -

FedUpwithBeingFat replied to jessybear's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
@@jessybear You look INCREDIBLE!!! You are so smart to take control of your life and health now. I'm curious because I weigh the same as you when you started. I can not get insurance to pay b/c they say I'm not heavy enough. Did you have this same issue? Did you have any co-morbidities? I suppose I will have to self pay. Any suggestions or advice on financing this? Are you glad you did it? I CANNOT believe the pics from the beginning until now.........Keep up the FANTASTC work!!!!! -
Transformed body but what about my mind?
FedUpwithBeingFat replied to Jewells70's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Jewells70 Thank you for bringing up this topic. I was embarrassed to admit this about myself because I feel like such a failure in the weight management department of my life. I am successful in all other areas and it is so DIFFICULT to understand how to get my MIND prepared for success. The other contributors to this topic had great suggestions . I intend to take their advice.....especially buying the book that one of the participants mentioned. I'm "following" this topic in order to continue to get good advice from fellow WLS participants. Good luck with your preparation! I wish you great success. -
@@roundisashape Hi, Do you have a surgery date yet?

Thank you all for putting a voice to what I have been SO ASHAMED to verbally acknowledge. I used to model professionally, loved beautiful clothes, and felt great about myself. I too do not understand how I let myself get into this condition, but felt POWERLESS to stop eating. I really appreciate your comments as it helps me to understand that I'm not the only one who knows better, but has TOTALLY lost control. I have been successful in every area of my life EXCEPT managing my weight. I hope the Sleeve will help me to gain control and confidence again. I will be here to support each of you as you progress towards a healthier version of yourself! Thank you all for sharing your thoughts.
