JeaLee, I had my Surgery January 8, 2008 and I've lost almost 40lbs without a fill. How about you? I was and have been very lucky..no pain with the surgery and I really have not been too hungry. Good luck with your fill and have fun with your new journey. Suzi -

You will totally love Dr. Francis and the entire group. She takes the time to answer all of your questions and never makes you feel that any question is silly. This is the best thing I've ever done for me....good luck! -

Isn't Dr. Francis GREAT!!! I had my surgery on Jan 8, 2008 and have lost 30lb. She and her staff have treated me like a queen. Good Luck and hope to see you around the boards! -
I had my surgery on 1/8 and have yet to have a pain. I keep waiting for the pain to start! I have more energy than I did at 17 (this is what my Mom says) and can't wait to get started at 24 hour fitness. I just can't believe how easy this has been so far.

When I get them, my response is "I'm Damn gorgeous now, but thank you. " They usually realize what they have said and agree. I really don't think that most ppl think before they speak and if they don't know the difference they will not change.

My Lapband Surgery Uncensored - Opinions?

I've just always been very lucky on the healing side of life and I have a very low threshold for pain. I just did or didn't do everything they told me too. I give a lot of credit to the Dr as I have very little black and blue, which means they took care when they were inside. -
I chose the Lap Band because of the fewer complications to the Bypass and because it was easier to remove. I also liked the fact that it would go slower and for me slower is better. I think most of us that want to know if it is removable is incase of complications that would require it to be removed. I have found in my research which ended with Dr LaPort that both are reversable, but the Bypass is not only major surgery it takes about 4 hours and everything will never be normal as they removed intestines. Removing the Band takes less than an hour. I was band last Tuesday had have had no pain, no gas and more energy than I did 26 years ago.

I'm one of the lucky ones....surgery on the 8th and back to work on the 11th. I have had no pain or any other side effects from the surgery. No gas pain, even my stomach doesn't hurt. I have no problem drinking the clear fluids, I don't crave anything. I still can't believe it and waiting for the pain to sneak up on me! -
