Hey guys! A little about myself, I am 22 years old, 5 weeks post-op (gastric sleeve), and I am down 32lbs! I found [background=rgb(249,249,249)]BariatricPal by doing a general search on the Internet. I started reading through the forums and I decided to join and share my journey. [/background]
[background=rgb(249,249,249)]I am still working on reaching my weight goals, but I feel I am right on track when it comes to my weight loss journey. I decided to get weight loss surgery after seeing how my father and his brother both had very positive outcomes with their surgeries. I had tried [/background]dieting and exercise[background=rgb(249,249,249)] on my own, unfortunately after many months, I saw very little results. I later turn to diet pills. My GP prescribed phentermine, I lost the weight and once I got off the pill, I gain double the weight. I felt defeated. I felt like I would never be able to reach my weight goals. That was when I decided to go for the gastric sleeve. [/background]
Even after my surgery I find myself craving some food or wishing I had a cold drink (especially in this AZ heat). But I remind myself of the sacrifices I have made to lose 32 lbs. (physically, mentally, and financially). I hope to find support within BariatricPal. A support that I have not found within my friends, since they are all size 0-4 and have no idea what I am going through. As much as I am able to talk to my father or uncle, just a friend is needed sometimes.
