    Any Born Again Christians?

LovedXJesus- I am a follower of Christ and I certainly prayed and was seeking God's will both regarding my previous weight loss attempts and regarding surgery. I believe that God has gifted mankind with medical treatment to help to mitigate the pain of living in a fallen world. I'm very much looking forward to being able to serve God with more energy in my new body. Best to you on your journey. I'll be praying for God to give you discernment regarding the decision.

    Polish and nails

Just got my pre-op instructions. No finger nail polish. Toes are ok.
  8. So, I just realized that I will likely be on my period for the day of my surgery, in a week and a half... Is there anything I need to be concerned about with this?
  9. Thanks! That's what I wanted to know. Hope you are feeling well!

It took me about 2 weeks between when I finished all my pre-op requirements and when I had a date. Then my date was about a month out.

Looks like we are on the same day, but different hospitals! I'm seeing Dr Ditslear. So far it's gone very smoothly. My total process has been about 4 months.

    Got A Date: August 26!

My first appointment was the 2nd week in May, so my process has gone rather quickly! Best to you!
  16. Hello, everyone! I've been reading the boards for several months now and really appreciate the community and shared knowledge! I got my insurance approval last week and am waiting anxiously to schedule my surgery, likely in September. Here's my question. My pre-op fear is that it won't work. That I will go through surgery, follow the program and will not lose weight. For many years, I've put off doing things until I'm where I want to be weight wise. Then someone said to me...stop putting off your life until you lose weight, what if you never do. This elevated the fear that it may not work and that one year from now, I'll still be obese. Thoughts? I will lose weight, right? I'm having RNY. HW: 218 CW: 209.

    I'm concerned it won't work...

JessicaO- Thanks for your insights! That's very helpful! You all are right! I have to own the process and continue educating myself! I've done a ton of research and reading, and understand that the combination of knowledge & application of that knowledge is key!!!

    No disability for "elective surgery"

Lulabelle-if your insurance is paying for your surgery, then it is most likely not categorized as elective nor cosmetic. I would call your benefits department and also the vendor that administers your STD plan. You can also request a copy of the Summary Plan Document for your short-term disability plan. This may give some insights. Best to you!
