Im 6 days post op. Get these " gas" pains under my breastbone. Breathe through them and they pass. Just thought it was gas from surgery but tday it felt almost like a severe hunger pain. Wondered if this is what acid reflux or heartburn is. Never really had it before. I take 1 chewable pepsid daily. Think i need a ppi. Will call dr tmorrow. What does gerd feel like?

Loose skin between the legs can be really uncomfortable and cause problems. Id really like to hear from people if it shrinks or hangs -

Pre Op Diet Commercials
4000smiles replied to LisaNLasVegas's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I noticed this about 1 week in on preop diet. Ive been on 1000 calories for 3 weeks. Ughhhh. Very challenging. There is food commercials every 5 minutes. Driving we are bombarded by billboards and signs. And even gas stations have come in and eat signs. No wonder why we gain weight. My hardest thing is having a food family. They are always eating. Most do not have weight problems. I have lost alot of social time with friends and family trying to stay away and not be in tempted. Its lonely feeling im in this by myself. Support groups only once a month. Wish it was once a week to feel connected to people who understand. This site is great to help -
hi. I was really hungry today. 1 week on preop diet. I took a 150 zantac for acid and felt much better. Though even though my stomach is empty i still feel bloaty. My nut gave me proti punch that you add to water it tastes like koolaid. 15 g protein 60 calories

Met with nutrtionist for class feeling scared about how to schedule liquid intake post op. How do you get 40 grams of protein and 64 oz of water if you can only take in 2 oz at a time. Feeling overwhelmed. Surgery scheduled everything preop completed and now having cold feet.

Me too. I keep thinking if i can do this preop diet i dont need the surgery. I keep thinking about all the things i will miss out on. Not a great thing to do though. A lady at my last support group meeting said "nothing tastes as good as thin feels". Ive always been successful on any diet ive tried, until the week is over. Ha! So i know these will help ensure i stay on it -

The gave me the cards for psych and nutritionist and told me if i got those meetings done i could make the appointment a preop. My employer listed as an exclusion. Took about a month to switch to husbands but then i was good to go. Went for blood work and endoscpe this week. Everything moved very fast but thet told me it was because i had anthem bcbs first visit was paperwork and questions and he examined my belly. . Im feeling a little better this morning i called someone from the support group i met and asked her about it. She told me that the first couple of weeks. Her doctor told her to sip water all day. And take 2 oz of ensure 3 times a day. Thats it no counting anything. And she had no issues. She did tell me that one of the support group meetings before i went was about if anyone regretted the surgery and all of them said no even with complications. Kind of makes me feel better. Im sticking with the preop diet. I want so bad to be healthy for my kids. Im actually down 6 pounds already
