Also i have a 18 month old at home, and I am a stay at home mom but also a student online and this coming semesger i have a class on campus. My surgert date i hope is the 14th of this month and classes start the 16th. Im SO ready to lose this fat man. I want to know, life after being banded... are you normal? do you feel normal? do you have a sad feeling knowing it is in there? idk im scared to not have a normal life because of the band. I know eating is different but do you feel like the same person mentally? -

Well I joined a few days ago, but finally able to sit down and make my introduction post. I am VERY familiar with forums, i help run a car club forum, and belong to a baby forum. I have a 1 year old daughter and have been married a year and a half. I first went to the siminar back on Sept 11, and just knew i had to take control of my life and make this change. I have tried EVERYTHING under the sun! I had my consultation yesteraday with my dr and we set the surgery for Nov. 5th. They said I could have it as soon as monday, but I wanted to wait, because I wanted to be able to take my daughter trick-or-treating. My hopes for having the surgery the first monday of Nov, are to have the 2 weeks of solids down, so that mushies come right around thanksgiving, and i can have the soft foods. I am VERY scared of going under, i've never been put to sleep nor had surgery. My first time staying over night or even being in my own hospital room, was when I had my little girl. And some of that experience was a lil scary because of the dumb nurses, and not to mention the 33hr labor. ANYWAYS, im just scared about the operation, as i've never had one. Thankfully its minimal. Another thing that concerns me is, i am a stay at home mom and go to school, thankfully this semester i signed up for all online classes. Well,. my parents are out of town for work, so i am taking care of my brother and sister, along with my husband and daughter. We live in a 2 story house and im just trying to figure out how im going to go through the day and give all i need to for my lil girl til someone gets home to help me. Also with that problem is i am keeping it a secret. Only telling my Husband, Mom, Grandma, and Mother in Law, along with my best friend of 12 years. So the day OF surgery, i may be alone or my husband in the waiting room with my 1 yr old = . So we'll have to see. Any suggestions? Comments? Happy to be here and a part of this forum! Im SO glad that someone started this place!

I personally hate junk food. I rarely eat anything sweet, unless an occasion like a birthday and I have a small piece of cake. I dont like chips, or anything like that, its just not me. And yet.. im still FAT -
Surgery in 12 Days
Bullitt2410 replied to renewedhope's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am so glad you asked! I have a 16 month old and Im supposed to be banned on 11/5/07! I will keep looking to see if anyone supplies more answers. Also I will try and ask my Dr too if i see him soon. -
Nina, Yes I am quite young, 23. And Im glad that this is available, I want to see my princess grow up and I want to see my great grandbabies! <3 Have you thought to try Water Arobics, you get a great work out and its a lot less strain on your knee. Should look into it, definatly worth it! From listening to the insurance coverage replies to the seminar I went to, a lady with Medicare will be completly covered even before they ran the Medicare check. Then I too was told the same thing with BC/BS federal, as long as i'd met my deductable, if not then of course no more than 250, or the difference from the total deductable and what i've met so far. Im so glad, that at this point in your life, you arent like a lot of people, and just given up. Im so proud of you and happy for you! I cant wait til you get some answers and things start working in your favor!

I totally feel the same! Its amazing huh! Im terrified to have surgery, will be my first, and the site has definatly given me strength!
-
Nina, Blue Cross Blue Shield FEDERAL will approve it, 100%, you just pay the co-pay. Thats the insurance I have. A lady at a seminar with me, sat next to me, she had Bc/Bs STATE and has to self pay.

I am not 'fat' enough??!!!
Bullitt2410 replied to 100lbsforsale's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I vote for the 20lbs. You'll drop it quickly  along with more unwanted weight The 37 BMI not being acceptable is everywhere unless you have a health risk. My mom for that reason cant have it done with me. But she decided just to eat as i did, and not have the surgery, that and she doesnt have time to set aside right now. -
19 views, in 2 days, and no advice/comment/welcome. im really starting to feel out of place here =
-
You're quite welcome
-
Nina, I think you should really consider finding maybe a different dr in your area. My Dr and his staff informed me that you had to be over 40 bmi, or 35 and over with health issues. As for the Psych exam, i havent had my evaluation yet, but i can hope that it isnt a whopping 700 questions. I hope that you can find a way to get the procedure done! Keep us updated!

-
I think then my msg came across differently. It wasnt to focus on the "food" it was the timing, if im going to be eating mushies anyway, why not make sure that I can have a few with the family during family holidays. thats all
-
I too am thinking Holidays. I was asked if I wanted the surgery this coming monday, but with Halloween coming up, i'd like to take my daughter Trick-or-treating. So We settled for Nov 5th. After that im hoping it goes well with 2 weeks of liquids and then the mushies, because of the good mushies that come with Thanksgiving! lol. Hope you get it figured out!
