Year long stall
Hannah Kinslow replied to smhagood's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I hit a major slow down at same time losing 2-3 a month. Scared me because I still had so much to lose. For me the culprit was Protein bars. As soon as I eliminated them and changed my workout routine I returned to losing 8-10 a month until I got to my goal at 14 months post op. I suspect it is the nuts, trail mix and crackers in your case - all pretty calorie and carb dense food. What's wrong with being full after a small portion of red meat? I don't particularly love sandwich meat but that is my main snack...I treat myself to a bit of cream cheese to help it taste better. Filling dense protein keeps me from snacking. If i eat crackers bread nuts Peanut Butter etc I can eat hefty portions either by grazing or too much at once. Does not happen if I focus on dense protein. You are incredibly helpful! Any chance you can suggest some good dense protein? Maybe I'm a dope but didn't realize there was dense protein. Or maybe a good resource on the computer that could give suggestion. Thanks so much! -

I hear you with the water intake. I used to be able to drink a lot more and I think my tastes have changed too. From the sounds of it stalls are part of it and will soon be a distant memory. Sounds like you're doing well. Pepcid AC Elle's with my acid reflux post op. -

Hey Everyone!! I was sleeved June 24th. I'm in a stall as well and read every where how common they are. I can tell I'm loosing inches though. My clothes are rally loose, lost 20lbs quickly now loosing slowly. Thankfully I have this I help me feel better. I'm way less panicky because of your posts! I hate exercise, always have and am struggling To get structured exercise in. I'm on my feet a lot being a teacher and am working on getting a buddy to work out with. Any suggestions or helpful tips are welcome?! I also tire easily, yet I have way more energy thank I did prior to surgery which I love. Also get hungry every couple of hours. Also heard that this will pass with solid foods but hey I'm just gonna listen to my body and eat a healthy choice when I'm hungry. I am aware I should not graze. Thanks for reading! Hannah -

Thank you! I'm like how you mentioned to invest in good shoes! That makes me think I should buy some new cute work out gear, that usually get me in the spirit of things. It's comforting to know in not the only one. Thank you! -
I'm totally with you!!! Stay the course it will pass!

Thanks! Phew! -
Ok that earlier thread was a mistake! Sorry! I'm 2 weeks out if my surgery and feeling much better! I'm just having a little problem with hunger signals! I eat until I first feel full but a little while later I feel Hungry again. I can not imagine Im not eating enough. Is this just my body getting used to my small stomach? How much should make me feel full? Today I had a smoothie for Breakfast, a Greek yogurt and some of a single serving of tapioca pudding for lunch and around 4 I was starving! I made an afternoon snack of 1 full egg, an egg white, 1/4 of a cup of low fat shredded cheese. Is this is ok? It's 6 now and I'm starting to feel hungry. Is this normal? Thanks!!!!!

Hey There! I completely feel your pain!! I got sleeved two weeks ago and Im just starting puréed stage. The first 2 weeks is brutal. Have you tried a protein powder (chocolate flavored) with ice and 1% milk, if you close your Wes it almost tastes like a milk shake. Those helped a lot. Also, I had Greek yogurt which was good too and Popsicles, sugar free helped too. Stay strong and stay the course! You don't want to leak and soon you will reap the benefits. It does suck though but you will get through!
