  1. There is nothing like home support, my wife and I were banded on 10/5/07. It has been easier since we are going through the process together. And like one comment stated, it is easier on meal preparation, saved us grocery shopping and eating out since we can split an entrée and be full since. We both work outside the home and have agreed to take our lunches to work to help us with the regime and have started our exercise program together. We have been married for a year and a half and this is a commitment we made to each other to get our health issues under control, I consider this one of the best decisions we have made. We have lost 12 and 33 pounds respectively since our pre op preparation and post surgery to date. Best wishes to all. :clap2:

I guess this is Bandster @*&%

Hello All... In reading the posts on this thread I can attest that how quickly your appetite comes back varies from person to person. Myself and my wife were banded on 10/5, we started the liquid diet and within about 7 days my wife was able to eat solid foods with very little problem while I was still choking on liquids, our dr told us it depended on the amount of swelling how quickly we could tolerate certain foods. My wife told me she felt like she is starving and I am just reaching the point where I am getting hungry on occasions, she felt like she was failing but the fact is that no one is the same. Our first fill is next week. We have had to exercise alot of willpower and hold each other accountable to sticking with the regimen. We have started walking but I have been hampered by a fracture foot I broke a week before we were banded. I encourage everyone to keep focused on why we had the surgery, to obtain a better quality of life, as with life there will be highs and lows, gains and losses but in the end it will be worth the efforts. Three weeks out she has loss 10 pounds and I have lost 21 pounds. Best wishes to all Oct 07 Bandsters:whoo:

Cigna and 6 mths of dieting?

My wife and I were banded om 10/5, Cigna is her primary through her job and Cigna is my secondary (BCBS TX is my primary which does not cover the procedure). We went through the six month program Cigna requires without much problem. The one thing we did find out that you have to keep up your monthly progress appointments, Cigna told us that if any were outside the 30 day window between each appointment we would have to start the program all over again. We submitted our paperwork and I got my approval within a week, my wife was initially denied due to paperwork not being recieved by Cigna, but with special consultaion we were able to get it worked out. The only issues I have had is since BCBS TX is my primary I had to route everything to them first so they could could deny the claim before Cigna picked it up. Best Wishes for All.
  4. Me and my wife were banded on 10/5. We both have taken 10 days off to recover, the amount of abdominal and chest pain suprised us. It reminded me of when I had my gall bladder removed several years ago. Each day is getting better though/
