    New here

Hope you are able to find support here.
  2. 15 grams of what? protein or sugar? if it is the sugar, there are ones that have much less than that. I use Premiere Protein which only has one gram of sugar per serving. It is also gluten free (I am). Have you discussed your condition with your doctor?

Misty, I am so sorry for your loss. Prayers, friends, hugs, and love will not make the pain go away but will provide comfort. I hope you are filled with these every day but specially now.

    Scared to death

Christy, I just saw my surgeon today--my surgery date is July 23. I talked to him about all of my concerns including blood clots. He told me that in his facility, blood thinner medication and leg covers are standard procedure. Maybe this is something you can have approved ahead of time.

    Bypass scheduled 7/30

Hi ladies, I am new and looking for support as well. Please, add me to your friends list. Lauramae, you did it--68 lbs lost is proof of what you are capable of achieving. It will be a long and difficult road for all of us so having a support group should be helpful. Hope to hear from you and share in your progress.
  11. I am pre-op and confess I just ate some. However, I know I will be purging my home of ANY temptations before the surgery so that even if a crave it, I won't have access to it.

    July Surgery Date

Hello Blessed, I am not on a pre-op liquid diet because I am at goal weight and have been for months. I do have a pre-op appointment on the 10th and this may change.

    Gluten free help!

I am a Celiac and had been feeling just as you described for years!!!! As soon as I was diagnosed, I went gluten free and I kid you not within two weeks I felt 80% better with less pain and had 70% more energy. I also lost 17 lbs in 4 weeks (I have not had my surgery yet), and the puffiness in my stomach and face decreased significantly. You just have to educate yourself and be a label freak-- we are lucky that many places carry gluten free options. It has definitively been a life style change but it has been worth it. Try it for two weeks and see if you feel a difference. To keep it simple I would say eat any fruit or veggie you choose and most meats are ok--really watch out for cold cuts and sausages though. Again it does suck at first but the benefits out weight the downsides.
