Hey folks. I was looking to set up a thread for July 2014 sleevers. I believe the other threads were originally back in 2013. I just had my surgery on July 2. I'm SO glad I did this. My breaking point was being diagnosed with high blood pressure, sleep apnea, and a host of other problems. I put on another 30 pounds from October to February of this year. I was a good 185 and quit smoking. I ballooned up to 305. I'm self pay and I got to 278 during my pre-surgery. Since the surgery, I don't think I've been hungry, but I'm still dealing with the healing process. My first postop is Thursday. My only complaint is the low energy level. I knew it was coming, but wow. I'd like to hear from those who started their life change this month. I am also hoping this can be a thread we can keep tabs on each other, as well as provide motivation when we need it

New Whey Protein Shot 42g Protein I thought WOW. It was like $2.50. The best thing I can say is that the bottle is shaped so it will go down fast. It tastes absolutely like £<¥*~. Just thinking about it makes me nauseous. -

Sleeved 7/2: Day 40 In a little stall. I've lost 45 pounds total, including my pre-surgery loss. I can eat virtually everything, but not much. The not much part keeps me from my Protein and Water goals. Need to up my protein and water. Problem is I can. I longer tolerate shakes. They make me yak. I'm getting better with protein since I've found Protein Bars, but the only issue is that I'm not sure which ones are good and which are crap. Any good protein bars without the carbs and calories people are eating? -

Hey fellow sleevers. I just had my one month check up. I've lost a total of 43 and I'm stalled out. I can pretty much eat anything, but not much of it. I am a little discouraged with this stall. But we've all been there before. -

Congratulations! It will be a little rough at first, but the best advice you could get would be to walk ASAP. It helped my recovery a lot I believe. -

Are you getting your water in about 15 min before you eat? I know I was told that we can also prematurely flush food on through our sleeve with water and that's why we are supposed to drink a while before and a while after. -

I have it all the time now. It's been going on for like a week. It's messed up my protein and water intake. Need to try some babybells! -

Is anyone out there having horrible heartburn? I've rarely ever had it, but I'm at like week 3, and this is killing me! -

I can't say I blame you. I don't have anything about this on Facebook, and I've been reluctant to join the group, and Facebook is not exactly private. I'm sure that could be argued for this site, but we are all in the same boat here unlike many on FB. -

I'm with you on that. I'm tasting a few things here and there. I haven't weighed in a little over a week and am a little worried I may be overeating too. I think it's in our head. When I eat, it's so little really. -
Ok kiddies. How many of you go through this? Last night I could not resist some of my mom's home made lasagna. I wasn't hungry, but I wanted to savor some flavor. I'm 3 weeks postop, and figured what the hell. Ok. A very small piece of lasagna, finely chewed, felt like a boulder. I wasn't in horrid pain, but there obviously wasn't enough room. It was like eating Thanksgiving dinner. Everyone's thanksgiving dinner.

Week 3 My date was 7/2. I'm wondering what some other folks from the first week of July are able to eat. I'm still prettying on liquids. I am having some Greek yogurt and cottage cheese. I haven't ventured past that. So what are you guys eating for your 3rd week that sits well? -

Everyone is different. My date was 7/2 and I can eat about a cup, then I get full. My sleeve seems to empty fast. This is when I need to do better with water. I forget to drink water and eat. The shakes are the most filling things I get. This is the first day of week three. -

I think it's different for all of us. I got where the Isopure made me so nauseous. That was the closest I came to getting sick. Tomato soup sounds good. Farthest I've ventured is the yogurt and cottage cheese. Good protein there. I'm glad you're doing better. I was sleeved on the 2nd. I have t weighed since Sunday, but had been losing a pound a day. Hope that trend keeps up -

Hey there. Glad you are feeling better. Hope the nausea has gone. My first week after I had to choke down Isopure clear protein. They wanted me to get 40 grams of protein so that was like getting one down. I hated it. I would have died without the broth, sugar free Jello, and sugar free Popsicles. For week two I've gone to the milk based protein drinks. The Premier Protein has been good. I think they want me at like 60 grams of protein now. Two of those takes care of it. I've also had some Greek yogurt and cottage cheese. My mainstay has still been the broth and Popsicles. Get the best you can buy. It's worth it. Hope you continue to feel better. -

I've had some issues with that. I do have to say that the 30 grams in Premier Protein helps a lot. I try to get one in first thing, and that helps. This way all I need is two more. They're not so bad. -

Day 10 Doing really well. I was on clear Isopure protein for the fist week. Now they have me on milk based. I'm drinking Premier Protein and Muscle Milk Light. Still going with the broth and sugar free Popsicles. I need to get more water in though. Swelling is going away, and the only cramping/pains I have are lying down on my side or belly. That's getting better. The best news is I've lost what ends up being a pound a day from my pre-surgery weight. So total lost now is 25 pounds. I hope everyone else is doing well too. I look forward to everyone's updates. -

Stay away from those damn evil scales! Don't worry about it at all. My Dr told me they pump us full of liquids and I could be 10 pounds heavier. It will come. I know it's been a little over a week for me, and the swelling still is t gone all the way. You will be fine, just stick to the program. -

Just checking in to see how you are doing. Hope the nausea is gone. I know it has to be horrible. Everything is so tender the first week. I'm finally able to sleep on my side and even my belly with only light discomfort. I'm craving the broth, and have been losing about a pound a day. Hope that keeps up for many months. -

I am so sorry for you. Hopefully they provided you something for nausea. I was told it is pretty common, but lucked out not having to take the meds I bought. Super small sips might help. I was so used to gulping. There is no more gulping. If you didn't get something for the nausea, I would ask ASAP. -

First postop visit. Can't say I've lost a whole lot, but 29 pounds total including my preop prep. Swelling is starting to go down and I'm back to shakes. They taste extra good for some reason. Haha. No real hunger feelings, and food hasn't bothered me hardly at all. Hope everyone is doing well. I can't wait to see everyone's before sand after pics next year. Not to wish a year away, just pounds.
