  1. I am five weeks post op and am struggling to get in my protein because even small amounts of chicken, ground turkey, or lean lunch meat makes me puke. I'm chewing good and eating slowly but I can only tolerate beans and cottage cheese...very frustrating. I was living protein shakes but now they are gross to me too. This is a daily struggle

Thank you guys for all your input! This is so helpful and reassuring! One day at a time

    Feeling good

During pre op diet (5 days) I lost ten pounds, from surgery to first week I lost 14, and second week I lost one pound... I'm three weeks out today and lost right more. It's weird because I stay the same for several days and then drop a lot in one day. I'm just focusing on getting in my water and protein and moving as much as possible. I'm only allowed to walk and it's been way too hot to walk outside so in just trying to keep busy inside. Sounds like you are doing fantastic! I didn't feel half as good for the first week! Welcome to the losers bench

  12. In twelve hours from now I will be having my first surgery ever!! I'm not nervous about recovery but being put to sleep and getting a catheter is nerve racking! Plus, I'm on my period :/ I'm so thankful for all the stories I've read to prepare myself and look forward to being on the losers bench

    Trouble with bowel movements

Oh my goodness I know your pain. I'm taking two stool softeners a day and added fiber to all my drinks. My dr said any longer than three days is considered extreme contstipation and to use a suppository or enema if needed. Also, if use a suppository you should lie on your left side after placing it because it allows for easier movement until u finally can go....otherwise make sure you are drinking a lot of water. Good luck
  14. My surgery was July 14 and I've lost 15lbs post op and 10 pounds pre op...so 25 all together yet I still can't wear my clothes that button and zip... I'm stuck wearing yoga pants and jammie pants. How long until I can wear real clothes?! Lol
  15. My rny was Monday and today one of my incisions is bleeding/oozing small amount (I can see it on my shirt in little drops)... It looks like the glue has worn off in that area. It is red but not much redder than when I was released. Any advice?
  16. Auntie rose

    Incision ooze?

My dr instructed me to cover the incisions w gauze and keep them dry. Small amounts if blood was not a concern. I'm still hurting but it's getting better every day

  22. So today is day 2 of my pre op liquid diet and the right side of my head is killing me...I'm drinking lots of water and sticking to my protein drinks but man this is miserable! I have three more days of this until surgery (that's my mantra to push thru it) counting down but miserable

    Anyone having surgery 7-15?

Franyfamilia this is hard but we can do it. If dieting had been successful in the past we wouldn't need the tool of this surgery. I'm tired and grumpy and hungry but a year from now I will be able to play with my nephew and dance with my friends so this is worth it. I listen to my body...if I'm tired I sleep. It sounds like u are spread thin because you take care if everyone but it may be time to make yourself a priority and elicit help with the house and animals...46 hours until my surgery and 47 hours until you check in! We are almost there!!
