Stubborn Sleeve...
KristenLee replied to KristenLee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take about two minutes between bites I have an app that like rings a little bell when I'm to take a bite. My surgeon instructed us to take at least 20 minutes to eat but no more than 30 minutes. -
Hello, just throwing this out there. I have been sleeved for almost 1 year. Never do I regret my decision and I feel amazing having lost 90 pounds! At about 4.5 months, I started vomiting and had multiple gall stones so the decision was made to have my gall bladder removed. Procedure went well and recovery was no problem. But, the vomiting still continued. Recently had some more blood work and an EGD scope to look for any kinks or strictures...everything is clear. I can eat soft foods and get in a Protein shake every day to get in my nutrients. Blood work is looking normal and no major red flags. It just every time I eat really course food (chicken, pork, any breads or pastas, rice, and make sure meats are moist) I vomit. I am vigilant about taking small bits, and chew chew chew, and eat slowly. I vomit at least one time a day. Just looking to see if anyone has had any similar experiences. Meeting with Dr. this week to go over the EGD tests. Just curious...maybe I just have a stubborn sleeve!

Former csection mommies

I agree with above comments! I took off 2 weeks and wished I would have taken 3! You are very tired and adjusting and I wish I had taken that extra week off! -

Former csection mommies
KristenLee replied to MollyF22's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had 2 C-sections and I think the C-sections were worse. It was harder to get up and get moving around after the C-sections. Just my opinion, sleeve was an easier recovery! Good luck! -

A year later and still having a hard time. Need your opinion
KristenLee replied to sweetlia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
HAHAHAHA!!!! I always say the same thing!!! Steak or chicken or any pork is unheard of! I have to laugh about it sometimes or I get too frustrated. I try to stay positive! I am consulting with the doctor and doing the best I can! But that comment made me laugh out oud...literally!! -

KristenLee replied to sweetlia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thnk you for the post and I am in the same boat! A year out and I have a hard time eating most foods. If I stick to soft foods I am good, but that is not what my doctor is stiving for. My doctor is doing an EGD scope with possible dialtion to see if there are any strictures. Please keep me posted. And, thank you again, for posting! -

Elevated Liver enzymes 4 months post op
KristenLee replied to jgbc85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sometimes elevated liver enzymes may be a signal of gall bladder issues....that was my expeince and ended up having my gall bladder out. I still have slight elevated enzymes, but that just be my "normal" level...more blood work to follow! Good luck!! -
