    Does anybody else get tired!

Yes, this is perfectly normal. You just had major surgery. There is nothing wrong with testing. Just focus on your Protein and fluids, and keep taking your vitamins as instructed. It gets better.

    New to all this

Get a calendar and use it. Write EVERYTHING down. If you are like me don't rely on just your memory. Keep a binder or notebook with all of the paperwork, etc. Don't be afraid to ask questions, and keep asking until you understand. It takes patience, polite persistence, perseverance, and most of all positivity. Good luck and keep us posted on how you are doing.

    American Food!

Personally, I like the ranch best. The teriyaki is pretty good. I was at big lots the other day and they had a ton of the lemon.

    American Food!

I agree about the P3. You can just make snacks of high protein things like: turkey, cheese, and nuts.

    American Food!

The flavored tuna packets are starkist. I get mr cheese o's from Amazon. I have heard you can get them at target but I haven't seen them at mine. I personally didn't really like the Isopure. I did like ProtiDiet liquid beverage concentrates when I was on clears.

    Getting obsessed![emoji33]

    This.
  7. We had frost last night. I still have flannel sheets on my bed. So, I am not quite ready to put anything away this week!

    May 6th Sleeve

I would think with a name like Glucerna it would have way too much sugar.

    Protein, Protein, Protein

Great. Then it sounds like you received nutritional education and are following your program.

Carbs-How many do YOU eat each day?

I don't count carbs per se. I choose to avoid starches and added sugars and look at the carb/sugar content for individual foods and try to keep that number low.
  11. Personally, I chose not to go back to caffeine for energy. Since I successfully weaned myself off of caffeine pre-op, I really don't want that monkey on my back any more. I think that with healing, hydration, proper nutrition, and exercise, you will eventually have plenty of energy. It just takes a bit of time.
  12. What kind of vitamins are you taking? Some of the high potency bariatric vitamins make me nauseous. I have better luck with regular vitamins: instead of taking one big pill.
  13. Fortunately, I wasn't working because I was fuzzy and had a hard time focusing after surgery. I don't remember how long it lasted but at least a month (or so). I THINK it may have cleared once I was able to get in a few healthy carbs. Or, it just may have been related to the healing process. This is one reason I recommend people not rush right back to work or school. You may be able to be physically present more quickly than you may be able to be mentally present. If you have the option to take some time to recover and adjust, then I recommend you take it.
  14. Thanks for the info. I look forward to hearing more when you finish the book. This lines up with what I have been learning throughout this process. Calories aren't the enemy. It is the quality/source of the calories that are the most important. For me, Protein is the most important focus. Embrace the Stall http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall
  15. It can take time. You are still healing. Just follow your program. Track your food. Make sure you are getting at least 64 oz of water/fluid. Make sure you get in all of your Protein every day. Avoid starches, added sugars, and fried foods. Take your Vitamins and supplements as directed. Get enough restful sleep. Exercise. You will start to feel better soon! Protein, Protein, Protein

The pre-op diet is challenging. First, stay hydrated. Second, eat and drink everything you are allowed. This is not the time for extra restriction. I don't know what your program allows, but if you are allowed sugar-free Popsicles and/or non-starchy vegetables, then eat them. If you are not sure what is allowed, then call your NUT. It does get easier and it will be over soon! Best of luck and good luck with your surgery.

    Best grocery stores?

I like Aldi, Trader Joe's, the local farmer's market, and some of the small Amish markets we have in our area.

    Liquid Preop Diet

Everyone's preop is different (unless you know someone who has your surgeon).

    Feeling full?

Measure out a serving. Eat slowly and take small bites. You might want to use a small spoon (like an appetizer or toddler spoon), or just use the tip of a regular teaspoon. Put the spoon down between bites. You will start to learn the difference between satisfied and one bite too many. You really don't want to eat until you are "full", but rather until you are satisfied. What does too full feel like? Sent from my SM-N920P using the BariatricPal App Uncomfortable. If you go too far it could be painful. You may burp, get a runny nose, sneeze, and/or get hiccups.

    Weird - and wonderful!

    Awesome!
  21. Once your incisions have healed you may want to try getting in the pool. I love swimming, water aerobics, etc.

    Why Protein Shakes?

I didn't use the ProtiDiet soups preop. But, I also didn't have a pre-op liquid diet. Mine was more like Atkin's phase one. My surgeon allowed the ProtiDiet creamy chicken and tomato basil post-op because they are lower carb (they have other flavors that have more carbs).

What do you eat? Am I eating too much?

Personally, I think you are a little carb heavy if this is a daily menu, but that's just my opinion. I am a bit more "decadent" with my menu so I would sub that breakfast bread with cheese on the eggs and a piece of ham, bacon, or sausage. My snack would be cheese or cheese. Maybe a few grapes, but protein with fruit, not just fruit so as to lessen it a bit. What kind of carb are you eating for lunch/lunch? I'd skip that and sub cheese, but DAMN... I love cheese. If you are eating brown rice, Beans, or a high fiber carb, that's different. Your late late night snack needs to change IMO. Nuts, jerky, cheese (what!?!?!), a bit of fruit, greek yogurt... I have no problem with Snacks as I graze most of my day, but I know that I personally have more hunger when I eat carbs right before bed. But that said, this is working for you. It would not work for me. You are not me. You're doing great, so you do you. If you find that your weight loss starts to slow or you start to feel more hunger, drop some carbs. You are doing fabulous. If in doubt, add cheese!

    Why Protein Shakes?

I have found no sugar shakes or verylow sugar sahkes, and even a Protein Drink called lift by Atkins. It has helped me a lot as I can not have any food right now. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App I will look into those no sugar shakes. Are they not sweet at all? What is the flavor?Yes, they do taste sweet, strawberry and chocolate or vanilla. I would prefer something savory but nothing has the same level of protein in liquid form. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App When it came to savory post-op, I like the unjury chicken Soup and a couple of the ProtiDiet Soups that my surgeon allowed. Why not ask your NUT if there are any savory alternatives that are allowed.
