6 weeks post op, trouble eating and drinking.

This sounds like something you might want to talk with a therapist about. Did you talk about these issues with your dietician?
  2. Your surgeon just needs to watch his back. I have a super soaker and I'm not afraid to use it!

    Post-Op Diet Full Liquids?

This sounds like s great question for your NUT. When I was on full liquids, I would have had to have strained out the beans and chunks.

    BA Calcium chewables flavors

I like the caramel, chocolate, and raspberry best.

Not sure if I'm losing enough.

This really is s conversation you need to have with your surgeon. You should be fine as long as you are following your program. Weight loss is such an individual thing and there are so many variables, I really can't predict what your surgeon expects. Good luck.

    How did you lose weight?

Focus on what you can control: following your program. Not what you can't control: the numbers on the scale. Follow your program. Track your food. Make sure you get at least 64 oz of Fluid every day. Make sure you reach your Protein target every day. Take your Vitamins and supplements as directed. Avoid starches, added sugars (especially high fructose corn syrup), and fried foods. Exercise when cleared. And, stay off the scale.

    How did you lose weight?

None of us lose weight at a constant or steady rate. We all experience stalls and slow downs. Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process of losing weight. We all stall and just about everyone stalls about three weeks after surgery. I highly recommend that if you are going to obsess about the numbers on the scale that you plan to weigh infrequently. Early out, I chose to weigh only at my doctors appointments. Now, weigh no more frequently than once a week. Embrace the Stall http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall

    Cleanliness after surgery

Before I checked out of the hospital, I had an occupational therapist stop by to see what I might need. This is something appropriate to bring up with an occupational therapist or even the nursing staff.

    Calories in a marinated salad?

I guess it depends on what it is marinated in. Did you make it? If you know the individual ingredients then you can calculate each ingredient separately. Sometimes, especially for restaurant food, I just do a search in MyFitnessPal to see what similar things come up. As a rule of thumb, when estimating, I try to underestimate my Protein and overestimate carbs and fats.

    Steady weight

I agree. I suggest that you make an appointment with your NUT to talk about your concerns.

    Pain

I agree. Also, other than some slight pain in my shoulder due to gas, I wouldn't really even describe what I felt as painful. It was more discomfort than anything.

    Steady weight

    Because clothes have mass.

Is there a way to break a stall

Can you plan a meal, snack, or at least a protein shake or bar during your practice time. That is an awful long time to go without some protein when you are having a challenge getting it all in. I hope you are at least sipping fluid/water during that time.@innersurfergirl- I do manage to get in liquids as we are outside in Florida and I would die if I didn't! I take a poweraide zero around and add water to the bottle so I am constantly drinking as I go and we water break the players frequently so I drink then too. My NUT thought that was too long to go to so I am looking at sneaking in a couple of ounces of chicken or turkey jerkey around 5-5:30 hopefully that will help and then I wont eat after 8PM. I am not getting in 1000 calories a day though a lot of days I am closer to 500-600 a good day would be 800 calories If you are working out intensely then you definitely need to up your calories. I am surprised you have been cleared for intense exercise before being able to do so. ProtiDiet liquid beverage concentrates have 15 grams of protein and you can add them to your water bottle. You could also add Syntrax nectar. Why won't you eat after 8 pm? Especially if you are low on protein.

How far out are you? What is your protein target? It appears to me that you simple need more protein/calories and water. Can you add a couple of high protein Snacks?

"Should" is not a very good word to use in this instance. Have you taken your measurements? Please keep in mind that clothing sizes are all over the place and not very standard. Plus, based on my observation there is more room between sizes at the higher end of the scale. Cut also has a lot to do with how clothes fit: dresses are more forgiving than clothes that are more form-fitting. I can still wear some clothes that I wore 200 pounds ago (although I probably "shouldn't). I have had to change my bathing suit size much more often. You are losing weight. Just follow your program.

    2 month follow up.....

Congratulations! It is interesting how exciting it is to get to add something as simple as a fresh piece of fruit.

Baby food 4 days post op

I agree. Is it in your plan? Is it allowed during this particular phase? (I also hate the term "cheating". You made a choice. Was it a wise choice?) I was allowed no sugar added applesauce (I got the single serve size) but don't remember if it was allowed during full liquids or soft foods. I hope your NUT/program gave you a food plan. Follow it.

    Slow Motion After Stall

Should is not a great word to use related to weight loss. None of us lose at a constant or steady rate. We all experience slow downs and stalls. What you "should" do is: Make sure you are getting in enough Protein and Water and following your program. What is your protein target? Are you getting at least that amount of protein every day? Are you drinking AT LEAST 64 oz of Fluid a day. Embrace the Stall http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall

Any May 19th ? Support group!

You will do great. The thing I think that helped me the most was to make a commitment to do everything my team asked me to do, even if I was afraid or thought I couldn't do it. After surgery, the sooner you can get up and walk the better. Sip, sip, sip: getting in all of your Protein and fluids is critical for healing and weight loss. I also decided to only weigh at doctors appointments early out. Staying off the scale can save your sanity. Best of luck and keep us posted on how you are doing. And, Happy Birthday!
  25. This is somewhat of a treat. I personally usually use only seasoning and no condiments. For this occasions where only a burger will do, this is the hack I've found. Maybe an organic ketchup? Best, Sanju Just read labels carefully.
