2 years post-op and need help!

Instead of counting calories, try counting protein. Make sure you are getting enough protein and water every day. Protein doesn't have to come from shakes at 2 years out: you are better off getting your protein from food anyway.
  3. It's not about the food. Couple's counseling sounds like an excellent idea.

    Hard to believe

160 is more than realistic and a far better goal than a size 2. I'm a bit mad at your mom for even setting such an unnecessary goal. I am reminded of episodes on both Grey's Anatomy and House.. I was angry with those moms too. My mom always said she would be thrilled if we both got under a size 16 so we could wear "regular" sized clothes. I am fine with that!

Three week stall - weight gain?

Small daily weight fluctuations are common. None of us lose at a constant or steady rate. We all experience slow downs and stalls. And, as you were expecting, most of us experience our first stall about three weeks after surgery. Getting a massage is a great idea. I love massages. Part of my lymphedema treatment includes twice daily compression treatments. I also schedule periodic full body massages. Just focus on following your program. Get in all of your fluids and Protein. Take your Vitamins and supplements. Exercise when cleared. And, Embrace the Stall! Embrace the Stall http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall

So angry I need to relax.

Don't give up. Setbacks happen. Just do your part.
  7. As is often noted, when performing surgery, our surgeon only operates on our digestive tract, not our brains. Many of us come to WLS with a long time or even a lifetime dysfunctional relationship with food and/or our bodies. One resource for making peace with food and our bodies is Overeater's Anonymous (OA). OA is a worldwide fellowship that is fashioned after Alcoholic's Anonymous. OA uses AA's 12-step model of recovery and changes the words alcohol and alcoholic to food and compulsive eater. If you are struggling with food and emotional eating or other issues around food and eating (anorexia, bulimia, compulsive eating, binge eating, body dysmorphia, food obsession, etc.), then you may want to explore OA. The website (OA.org), has information about the program, literature, meeting lists, podcasts, and other useful information. Here is a good blog post about how WLS and OA can work together: http://www.mybariatriclife.org/oa-overeaters-anonymous-after-surgery/
  8. There is a huge difference between setting an example and expecting someone to do what you think they SHOULD do. You need to take care of yourself. Let him take care of himself.

This sounds like a great question for your NUT. I don't take probiotic supplements, but I eat a lot of Greek yogurt.
  10. I agree. He didn't have surgery.

    Exercise with a gastric balloon?

How are you doing at getting in all of your protein and fluids? You may be dehydrated.

    Gastric sleeve and a leak

I don't know where people are getting the 2 week timeframe. According to my surgeon, things like steroid use can cause leaks much later than 2 weeks after surgery. Leaks are very rare. If you have concerns, please talk to your surgeon.

    Feeling bad...no progress

It is never too late. You still have your sleeve. Why not make an appointment with your NUT to talk about your goals? A good therapist may also be able to help you get back on track. In the meantime, go back to basics. Follow your program. Track your food. Get at least 64 oz Fluid every day. Meet your Protein target every day. What is your protein target? Avoid starches, added sugars (especially high fructose corn syrup), and fried foods. Take your Vitamins and supplements as directed. Exercise. And, Embrace the Stall http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall

    Pedicure Right Now!

I had some physical limitations at my highest weight (climbing onto a pedicure chair, getting up on a massage table), but I am not aware of any weight-related limitations for getting a manicure.

    Weight is not going down

You need more than 30 grams of protein a day (closer to 80-100), and you need AT LEAST 64 oz of Fluid a day. None of us lose at a constant or steady rate. We all experience stalls and slow downs. If you are planning to lose a significant amount of weight, you will experience different rates of loss and periodic stalls. Just follow your program. Focus on getting in all of your protein and fluids, take your Vitamins and supplements as directed, exercise, and stay off the scale. There is absolutely nothing wrong with cooking meals. Just be prepared for lots of leftovers. We are allowed to eat!

    Can't get motivated [emoji30]

The best motivation I have is fun. What do you like to do? Swim? Dance? Walk?

    Workout regimen-What's yours?

I try to swim at least every other day (and sometimes two days in a row). I generally do 1 hour of laps and then some an work and stretching. Some days I add in Water weights. Sometimes I take a water aerobics class.

Post-Op Exercise Limitations for Very Active Pre-Op Patient?

Some things to keep in mind: Limiting how much you use/stress your abdominal muscles. You don't want incisional hernias or to stress your incisions. Not immersing in Water. I wasn't cleared to swim until My incisions had healed. General healing. Most of the energy in the first couple of weeks needs to go toward healing. Until you are able to consume enough calories for your basic needs, you may not have a lot of energy for strenuous exercise. It is ok to take it relatively easy and rest while you heal.

    Embrace the Stall

Are you tracking your food? Are you getting in all of your Protein and fluids? Are you avoiding starches, added sugars (especially high fructose corn syrup), and fried foods? Are you taking your Vitamins? Are you exercising? Have you talked to your NUT about your concerns?

    Coca Wheat?

I am not sure. How much sugar is in it? You could try adding chocolate Protein powder to regular cream of wheat. If cocoa wheat doesn't have a lot of sugar you could add Protein Powder to it.
