    Liquid

Not a stupid question at all. I count all my fluids toward my Fluid total. But, not all surgeon's or NUTs do that. If in doubt, you may want to check with your NUT.

  8. Not to sound like I am picking, but sparkling water has carbonation. You will want to stick with regular water with lemon!

    Drinks

I am not aware there is such a thing as a sugar free fruit juice. By definition, fruit has sugar. If you are looking for something fruity, try Syntrax nectar, ProtiDiet liquid beverage concentrates, GNC Lean shake 25 (orange cream, very, etc) --- all these have Protein. You can also try Mio drops, crystal light, etc. If you feel you must drink fruit juice, then try it diluted and choose fresh or no sugar added. It will still have a lot of sugar.

    5 or 6 meals

No, you shouldn't feel bad. Are you tracking your food? Are you reaching your Protein target? Are you drinking at least 64 oz of Fluid? Are you avoiding added sugars (especially high fructose corn syrup), starches and fried foods? Are you taking your Vitamins and supplements as directed? If you are doing all of these things then it shouldn't matter how many times you eat.

    5 or 6 meals

Yes, you may need to eat frequent small protein rich snacks or meals in order to get in all of your protein especially early out after surgery.

    No more weight loss

Your questions are excellent. I am eating pretty much the same foods I ate before but much lesser quantity. I don't drink Protein shakes anymore. Today for example, I ate a half of English muffin, a half macaroni and cheese smallfrozrn dinner and a pickle. I'm not doing very good but I think it's because when I was doing good, I stopped losing weight. I am not on any exercise program as I have a knee that is needing surgery. I have diabetes on insulin and am taking prednisone for PMR. I weigh about 170..at 5ft 3inches. I know insulin and prednisone is bad. Sent from my SM-N930V using the BariatricPal App No wonder you aren't losing weight: you are restricting calories while not eating nutritious food. You need PROTEIN.
  15. It has more carbs than Protein so my answer would be "no".

    No more weight loss

How awful. I am so sorry you had to experience such awful care. As to why you are no longer losing weight it would be very helpful to know what you are doing. You may be hungry every three hours because you need more Protein? Or, if you are eating carbs and sugar you may be craving more. You may not be eating enough or you may be eating too much. Without more information or is hard to know. Are you tracking your food? What is your protein target? Are you reaching your protein target every day? Are you drinking at least 64 oz of Fluid every day? Are you avoiding added sugars (especially high fructose corn syrup), starches and fried foods? Are you practicing mindful eating? Are you taking your Vitamins and supplements as directed? Are you exercising? Do you have a NUT?

    So upset!

How old are you? I assume you are an adult (or close to it). Is there a reason she thinks it is ok to micromanage your life. Have you abdicated responsibility for your life to her. This sounds like a great time to gently set some boundaries.

    Stall

If you must "worry" then worry about Protein. If you are under your protein target it is better to eat the extra protein calories.

How are you doing at getting at least 80 grams of Protein?
  20. Inner Surfer Girl

    Stall

You mention calories (which seem really low) but not Protein. What is your protein target? Mine is 100 grams and my surgeon's range is 80-100 grams. How are you doing at getting in all of your protein? Are you able to consume at least 80 grams? Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process of losing weight. But, if you are eating so little you may not be getting enough nutrition to support your activity level and weight loss. Getting in enough protein and Fluid (at least 64 oz) is critical for health and for weight loss. Embrace the Stall http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall Your calories are relative to your protein. What is your protein target?

This is why I need WLS.

Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process of losing weight. Whether you have had WLS or not, if you intend to lose a significant amount of weight you will experience stalls. Embrace the Stall http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall

    Debating referral

I don't think it is a waste of time at all. Six months will pass whether you start the process or not. Even if you decide surgery isn't for you seeing a therapist and NUT will be educational and may give you some tools, information, and insight that you may find helpful. You may also want to read books related to WLS, food addiction, etc. I highly recommend anything by Geneen Roth as well as a book called Eat it Up! by Connie Stapleton.

When did you have your first stall?

I am not sure when I experienced my first stall because I only weighed at doctors appointments early out. But, just about everyone experiences a stall about three weeks after surgery. Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process of losing weight. Embrace the Stall http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall

11 months and need some assistance

I am so sorry that you are struggling. Have you talked to your NUT about your challenges and goals? Are you attending support group meetings? Are you seeing a therapist? Have you considered attending recovery meetings or other support group meetings like Overeaters Anonymous? You can find meeting lists and other resources online at OA.org. In the meantime, go back to basics. Are you tracking your food? Are you drinking at least 64 oz of Fluid a day? Are you reaching your Protein target every day? Are you avoiding starches, added sugars (especially high fructose corn syrup), and fried foods? Are you taking your Vitamins and supplements as directed? Are you exercising? Are you getting enough restful sleep?

    So upset!

Walking is critical. If it is too hot to walk outside, then walk around the house. You don't need to hike but you do need to move. My surgeon's one fatality was from someone who didn't move when he got home from surgery. His well-meaning family wouldn't let him get up and insisted on doing everything for him. He died of blood clots. Even if they are annoying, it sounds like your family loves you very much.
