    Food

I wasn't allowed fruit and peanut butter until later phases. You MAY be able to add some PB2 to your shakes though. What do your guidelines say? If in doubt, call your NUT for clarification.

Breaking a stall at 2 yrs out?

Congratulations on the weight loss! A year sounds more like maintenance than a stall. What does your current food plan look like? I would suggest you make an appointment with your NUT to talk about your goals and strategies for reaching them. In the meantime, go back to basics: Track your food. Make sure you are getting at least 64 oz of Fluid and are reaching your Protein target every day. Eat protein first. Avoid starches, added sugars (especially high fructose corn syrup), and fried foods. Take your Vitamins and supplements as directed. Exercise. Memorial Weekend BBQ...what to eat?

I'd skip the potato salad. chicken should be ok as long as it isn't too dry. Be sure to take small bites and chew well. As to getting in the pool, as long as your incisions have healed you should be ok. Have fun!

    Nervous about change....

Things are going to change. You can choose to get better or you can wait and let things get worse.

    Psychological Affect of the Surgery

Welcome. I probably have a completely different experience than you. I was sleeved April 20, 2015 at age 51, so I have had a lifetime of dealing with food issues and related psychological issues. I already had a lot of skills, knowledge, and experience in dealing with psychological issues. I am a firm believer in utilizing every resource available to me. Most good surgeons and most insurance companies will require a psych clearance before approving you for surgery. I HIGHLY recommend that you seek counseling as you go through this process to address the concerns and issues you have brought up. In addition, you will want to attend support group meetings. You may also want to consider attending some recovery meetings such as Overeater's Anonymous (OA.org). I also recommend that you read some books related to weight loss surgery as well as food addiction. Some good ones are: Eat it Up! by Connie Stapleton and When Food is Love by Geneen Roth. Are you in college? If so, many colleges and universities have mental health services. They may not have people experienced in working with bariatric patients, but that may be a resource worth exploring. Best of luck and keep us posted on how you are doing.

    Social Isolation

I am watching the supersized version of My 600 Pound Life (Chay/Lola and Pauline). One of the subtitles they put up just said that: some researchers believe that social isolation is more detrimental to health than obesity and immobility. I can see where that could very well be the case.

Food items to have Post Op

Mine was one week. But, I built on it so I still used some of the same things as I progressed through the phases.

    Social Isolation

One of the blessings of this site is that it does give many of us a regular opportunity to interact socially (even if it is virtually).

Who do you want to be after?

I have to wear my shirt tucked in at work so my pants don't fall off I want to be able to wear pants and jeans!

    Boyfriend not supportive...feel lonely.

Whatever your boyfriend does, the thing I would be most concerned about is the fact that he is the only person you know. Whether or not your relationship survives the stress of this change, I would highly recommend that you build your own support network. Feeling like you are trapped is no way to have a healthy relationship. Wouldn't you rather be in a relationship because you choose to be together rather than because you feel like you have no other choice. As was mentioned above, attend support group meetings and see if he will go with you. In the meantime, see if you can broaden your circle of acquaintances...that is the only way to discover some good friends. You could also: Attend church Take a class Volunteer Attend community events Join a YMCA or fitness center Hang out at the public library, a park, or other community venue As I mentioned in a recent thread, social isolation can have a negative impact on our health, even more so than obesity and immobility.

My surgeon's office had them. I also order them online through Bariatric Choice.

Bra sales, yay or nay to shop pre-op?

Not long after surgery I bought 3 pairs of underwear in the next two sizes down. I actually bought a package of Hanes at Dollar General the other day. I haven't yet tried them in, but bought a package off the rack on clearance because I could!

    I feel devastated..

Since inception, we've allowed members the ability to edit their posts for 28 days. I've changed this to 5 minutes. Also, updated the OP's name. I need more than 5 minutes to go back and reread my posts and fix the typos! Edited because: mi Unites is not the same thing as minutes.

    Is it ok

Are you getting in all of your Protein and fluids? Taking your Vitamins and supplements? Exercising? What does your NUT and surgeon think of your progress? Everyone is different and the numbers on the scale are relative. Embrace the Stall http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall

Food items to have Post Op

For the clear phase, I really liked ProtiDiet liquid beverage concentrates (they gave me some in the hospital), sugar-free Popsicles, sugar-free jello, crystal light/Mio drops, decaf tea, etc.

    Social Isolation

I am an introvert with extrovert skills learned over decades. In thinking about some of the dangers of isolation is that we lose any outside influences, cues, examples, etc. of how things could be different.

    Social Isolation

"Getting a hobby" may not be THE answer, but it can be an answer or at least a way to be involved in social interactions.

    Please help...

Absolutely no regrets. I am a little over a year out and a little over half way to goal. Another good book is: "Eat it Up!" by Connie Stapleton.

    Shower + Incisions

I was told not to submerge in water until my incisions had completely healed with no holes. It was about 4 weeks or so.

Creative foods for newbie! Howdy y'all!

I love this! I am so sorry for your loss. Congratulations on your news! As to your original question, early out I ate pretty simply: lots of Greek yogurt and cottage cheese, turkey, tuna, etc.
