    Calorie goal?

What is your protein target? That is the most important number. But, your calories are extremely low. I can't imagine you are getting in enough protein with such low calorie numbers.

    Nutrition facts

I primarily look at protein, carbs, and fat. If you avoid processed foods, then you won't have to worry too much about sodium. But, eating processed foods can definitely give you too much sodium. My surgeon also advised me to completely avoid high fructose corn syrup.
  3. I just looked it up in MyFitnessPal and 2 oz of rotisserie chicken has 14 grams. How are you tracking your food? I like MyFitnessPal because it has just about everything I eat in it. I haven't really been keeping track! Judy making sure I eat protein first Abe stop eating when I'm satisfied! I will definitely check out the myfitness app! Thank you Sent from my LG-D851 using the BariatricPal App If I don't track there is no way I would know whether or not I was getting in all of my protein.

  5. It is possible to have problems with your Gallbladder after surgery but not guaranteed. I was prescribed Actigall after surgery which I believe is supposed to help get the Gallbladder going again. If this is a concern for you, why not ask your surgeon what he recommends?
  6. Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process of losing weight. None of us lose weight at a constant or steady rate. We all experience periodic stalls and just about everyone experiences a stall about three weeks after surgery. It is very common. Just follow your program. Track your food. Make sure you get at least 64 oz of Fluid every day. Focus on reaching your Protein target. What is your protein target? Mine is 100 grams a day. Avoid starches, added sugars (especially high fructose corn syrup), and fried foods. Take your Vitamins and supplements as directed. Exercise when cleared. Lifestyle change

Congratulations on your surgery. When it comes to keeping up with Vitamins and Protein, I suggest that you plan everything out on your calendar. Did your surgeon or NUT give you a recommended Vitamin schedule? It is important that you plan it so that you don't take some vitamins together and that you do others. Whether you are working and/or in school, a calendar is invaluable.

Registered Dietitian and I was sleeved 7/1!

Welcome! This is awesome. I can only imagine how much more insight you will have to be able to work with your clients now you are able to experience WLS first hand. Do you work with bariatric/WLS patients? You are well on your way to regaining your mojo. By the way, you may or may not be prepared, but about three weeks post-op you will probably experience a stall. Here is my take: Embrace the Stall http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall I would love to know what you think or if you can add anything.

    Things you wish you'd known.

I wish I had known how easy the surgery and recovery would be. It was my first surgery so I had no idea what it would be like.

    Protein Shakes

I recommend you get samples and try different shakes (before and after surgery) before buying in bulk since your tastes may change.

    Weird maybe even stupid question

I don't believe the stomach is actually attached anywhere except to the esophagus at the top and the small intestines at the bottom: our digestive is one long tube. I would definitely call your surgeon and ask when it would be OK to use an inversion table. I would be more concerned about making sure you have been cleared to do something that really engages your abs.

    Starving

Rather than "cheating", why not have what you are allowed. Are you allowed sugar free Popsicles? Crystal light? An extra Protein shake? What are your guidelines?

    Protein Shakes

The carbs would be too high for me. Try Premier Protein, GNC Lean 25, unjury, Syntrax nectar, Quest, or Isopure. Look for double digits of protein and single digits for carbs.

    Protein vs Calories

Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process of losing weight. We all experience stalls. But, to optimize weight loss, you need to make sure you are getting enough protein. Sometimes, you may also need more fat and/or carbs. To me, the macros are much more important than calories. I count all fluids (non-carbonated, non-caffeinated) towards my fluid totals. So, for an example, if you drink 3 Premier Protein ready to drink shakes, then I count 90 grams and 33 oz of fluid.

    Protein Shakes

The ones I have seen have too many carbs. What does the nutrition label look like? It is important to learn how to read labels. Look for a high protein low carb/sugar ratio.

    Protein vs Calories

You need protein to heal and for weight loss. If you aren't getting enough protein then your body thinks there is a famine and it will do everything it can to conserve energy. I was told to concentrate on my protein target and getting at least 64 oz of Fluid. Calories are secondary. If you have to choose between going over 800 calories (which is an arbitrary number) to get in your protein then go for the protein. The quality and source of your calories is much more important than the number. 1200 calories of protein is much, much better than 800 calories of donuts. Please please please help

Walking should help. I had most of my gas pain in my shoulder so a heating pad helped.

    New to the group

Welcome! I am doing great. I still have a long way to go but my life is completely different than it was a year ago.

Oh, how easily we sabotage ourselves...

Even if you do everything by the letter, you are going to experience stalls and slow downs in weight loss. None of us lose at a constant or steady rate. We all experience stalls. Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process of losing a large amount of weight. To me, the key to success is how I respond to inevitable stalls. Will I keep following my program or will I get discouraged and go back to old, bad habits? You get to decide. Embrace the Stall http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall

    Too FAT for GVS?

I was over 400 pounds (closer to 600 than 500) and was sleeved in the US. I couldn't be happier with my choice. My surgeon didn't have any issues with recommending the sleeve for me. I don't know if it makes a difference or not for your surgeon about where you carry most of your weight, but I carry most of my weight in my lower body.
