Walking post op.
Inner Surfer Girl replied to Alistmurf's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not me, but I wouldn't have been able to shop and explore before surgery. It will really depend on your general fitness level and how well you are recovering. You certainly won't be able to lift or carry anything and will need to be sipping something almost continuously. -
Journey begins/Thanks
Inner Surfer Girl replied to bwaynejr's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Welcome! You have come to the right place. Keep us posted on how you are doing and best of luck. -
You posted in the sleeve forum. Were you sleeved? If so, you don't have a pouch. Sleeves don't stretch, especially with fluids. Just keep sipping and you should be fine. If it is uncomfortable then you are drinking too much. Just go slow and sip, sip, sip.

Stalled in first month
Inner Surfer Girl replied to LightenUp Linz's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It sounds like you are doing fine. But, you really do need to increase your fluids and Protein. Both seem low. Embrace the Stall http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/351046-Embrace-the-Stall -
I use MyFitnessPal.

Burp, gurgling? Going to fast
Inner Surfer Girl replied to Butterflywarrior's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Try slowing down and taking smaller sips. It will get better. -
Straw Poll
Inner Surfer Girl replied to twinmommy2004's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I do but I am over a year post-op. -
Your surgeon or PCP can give you a vitamin/supplement schedule. I took an iron supplement in addition to my other vitamins during my first year.

Being politically correct sucks!
Inner Surfer Girl replied to highfunctioningfatman's topic in The Lounge
Actually, these rates sound great. Have you tried getting insurance as someone who is self-employee lately? Also, have you seen how much healthcare CEO's make lately? I don't know where you work but what does your CEO make? Those numbers have a lot more to do with what you pay than "political correctness" or whatever you are complaining about. Employers had the chance to get out of the healthcare/insurance business if they would have supported single payer. -

How are people staying under 1000 calories?
Inner Surfer Girl replied to rick_ron's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Why do you feel like you need to stay under 1000 calories? What is your protein target? Mine is 100 grams so 1000 calories is unrealistic and unsustainable. What does your NUT advise? -

I am probably not in your target demographic, but feel free to PM me if you want. -
Sports Shaker Bottle with BariatricPal's logo and name - would you be embarrassed to use it?
Inner Surfer Girl replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I think the logo would be okay but not the whole name (unless it is in tiny type). -
Has anyone cheated ?
Inner Surfer Girl replied to VsgFitMom15's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was allowed Greek yogurt during my full liquid phase. What does your NUT say? -
Protein
Inner Surfer Girl replied to jenniferbook902's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I guess it depends on what you have tried. Premier unjury Syntrax nectar GNC Lean Shake 25 Quest Isopure ProtiDiet liquid beverage concentrates ProtiDiet hot chocolate ProtiDiet soups Carnation Breakfast essentials no sugar added WonderSlim protein pudding Keep trying. You have got to get in your protein/nutrition. It is critical for healing and weight loss. If the smell bothers you, try drinking from something with a lid. -
When I went to a Plano session at the beginning of the month they talked about beverages of choice (caffeine, alcohol, etc.). I was like: water, tea, and crystal light!

very slow loser, completely stalled
Inner Surfer Girl replied to surfhudson's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
If you are choosing foods with sugar then you are actively eating it. Eating sugar will make you crave sugar. -

Drink your water! Especially if you are working out intensely, you need AT LEAST 64 oz of Fluid (more if you are exercising a lot). How are you doing at getting in all of your Protein? Are you tracking your food? What is your protein target? When you graze, what are you eating? Are you eating protein? There is a huge difference between eating protein frequently and grazing on carbs, starches, and sugars. Are you eating enough to support your exercise level? Have you talked to your NUT lately? I guess it depends on what is in your hot chocolate. Have you tried the ProtiDiet hot chocolate?

I watched the Hamilton special last night. Since it was a beautiful fall day in central Kentucky I decided to take a road trip this afternoon to a state park and listened to my Hamilton CD all the way there and back, turned way up! This is an NSV because a year ago I could never have taken a spontaneous road trip like that!

What are your instructions? Did you get a written pre-op plan from your surgeon or NUT?

Following because as much as I HATE wearing hose, I am going to need some for compression in the future. -
