I Have No Motivation That Pushes Me

Someone put rubbing alcohol in your Water bottle? You called the police, right? You filed a complaint with your employer, right? Same question about the collision. That is just awful. You have had an awful time. One thing that has motivated me to go to the Y in the past has been the hot tub. After my water aerobics class we would soak in the hot tub. It felt great. Plus exercise and hot tubs are great stress relievers. -
Spaghetti Squash?
Inner Surfer Girl replied to brown eyed gal's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Here is a good demo for making spaghetti squash (and roasted garlic). http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/damaris-phillips/spaghetti-squash-with-parsley-and-pecan-pesto.html -
Surgery 2 days ago. What now?!

See if you can get a strait chair. If the desk is moveable then turn it around and sit at a chair behind or next to the desk. If it's not, then sit at the end of the row. Your college should have some sort of disability services to help with accessability (check with the Dean of Students office). Can you tell I've spent a lot of time in college classrooms? -
Decades ago, when my dad travelled to Europe he used to bring back Paris Vogue for me (when it was still oversized). Talk about aspirational!

Everyone who ever lost a pound thinks they know it all.
Inner Surfer Girl replied to Stevehud's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I used to be in a therapy group for people with weight issues. One day there was a woman in the waiting room who got all excited when she saw us (obviously large folks) start to come in and approached every single one of us to try to sell some miracle cure. We told our therapist and the receptionist who had to tell her to knock it off. It turns out she was the mother of a patient who was seeing a therapist. Talk about someone with serious boundary issues. -

This thread motivated me to use my little peddler while watching tv today. I peddle with my hands and made it to 30 minutes. -

Starting solid phase recipes
Inner Surfer Girl replied to sofianoemi's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Look under General Weight Loss Surgery - Food and Nutrition. There are recipes for all phases. -
If you are self-pay you are still entitled to post-op support. Don't hesitate to call and ask questions.

Is this correct? Standards for carbs and proteins as per dietitian....
Inner Surfer Girl replied to natalie_christin's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My understanding is that these are the baseline numbers. You may need more protein, water, and even carbs (for example if you are training for a marathon) but never less. -
Is this correct? Standards for carbs and proteins as per dietitian....
Inner Surfer Girl replied to natalie_christin's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I remember that you posted a similar question not long ago. I am pre-op but have been doing lots of research and the information from my surgeon I have been practicing for when I get my surgery date. From everything I have learned here is what I would suggest: Drink at least 64 oz of Water a day. Eat at least 80 grams of Protein a day (but no more than 30 grams at a time so you definitely need to eat at least 3 times a day). Record your water and protein so you can keep track. Eat protein first and if you have room then eat vegetables, then fruits. Whole carbs should be last. -

Everyone who ever lost a pound thinks they know it all.
Inner Surfer Girl replied to Stevehud's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think you have handled it well. "Thank you for your concern, but I am happy with my decision (or Drs. advice, or whatever)." should suffice. If she persists, I would politely ask her not to contact you again. Some people really have no manners. -

When I first joined BariatricPal I thought the Veteran's Forum was for military veterans. So, I skipped over the posts thinking -- isn't it great that veterans have their own forum but since I'm not one it's not for me. I did wonder was what unique problems they may have other than navigating the VA. Now that I know what the Veterans Forum is for I still notice when military veterans post. To all the Veteran's who have served my country (USA) and those from around the world who have served to make our world a better place --- THANK YOU!

There is a forum called Food and Nutrition under General Weight Loss Surgery that has categories for phases and special diets, etc. it is helpful to put food/recipe-related posts under that forum so people can find them easily. You don't have to recreate the wheel.

How awful! What a toxic group of people. No, don't do it. There is no excuse to be unkind.
