    Stress and Disappointed

Are you getting your protein and water?
  2. First, congratulations on losing 100 pounds. Second, paragraphs are our friends, I didn't make it all the way through your post. Third, the first thing I thought of when you mentioned your daughters age was why not get your exercise with her. As someone mentioned , you can take walks, hikes, go swimming, run around outside. Keeping up with kids will definitely make you more active. Fourth, who stocks the snack table at work? Why not request healthier options or bring your own? I know I'd much rather eat cheese than chips any day. Best of luck. You sound like me. I KNOW what to do, but doing it is a challenge.

    No Pre-Op Diet?

I would follow my surgeon's guidelines.

Am I going through STARVATION MODE?!

I had my final pre-op surgical appointment and my surgeon spent 2 hours with us going into detail about risks of complications as well as weight loss success. The people with the fewest complications and the highest success rate are those who get enough Protein (100 grams for me). It's non-negotiable. It has made me even more committed to getting my protein. Whether or not Ii feel like it, or think I can do it, or feel bad doing it, I have made up my mind that I WILL get in my protein (and water). He explained that even with swelling, there is no physical reason we shouldn't be able to drink at least 3 premier Protein shakes (or equivalent) a day. That the only barrier is mental in almost all cases.

    What is pb2?

5 grams a serving for PB2 (Google is pretty easy to use).

    WLS/New Job

Take care of yourself and if you need to take more time I would recommend doing so even if it is a new job. Rather take the time you need to be healthy than to start a new job when you can't perform at your best. First impressions are critical. If they frown on you doing what is best for you that would be a major red flag for me. Just my take.
  7. Whether you do juicing or surgery you still have to get in protein. No protein = no weight loss.

TV Shows - What are you watching ?

You might think it's a guy show because it's really violent, but it's really not because Raylan Givens is so darned hot! I could watch a whole episode of him just walking down the street, Boyd Crowder isn't too hard to look at either. The characters and writing are outstanding.

    What is pb2?

It's powdered peanut butter and you can add it to shakes and other recipes as well as add water to make peanut butter.

Finally Have My Date -- April 20, 2015

Even better, I don't have to start until tomorrow so I had a "last supper" tonight.

TV Shows - What are you watching ?

Tonight is the series finale of Justified. It's bittersweet. If you have never seen it tonight is NOT the episode to start with. You definitely need to start from the beginning.

The importance of Vitamin D after surgery

As soon as I began contemplating surgery my surgeon's office has required that I take a D3 supplement daily.

Starting back to school. NERVOUS. Encouragement? Advice?

I used to teach a Freshman class related to adjusting to college life that focused on college success skills. You will do great! It's never too late to go back to school. Some suggestions: Get and use a good calendar. Time management is key. Stay healthy (eat properly, exercise and get your sleep) -- something 18 year olds struggle with Get to know your professors-- use their office hours Seek out tutoring help early In the term Never be afraid to ask for help, even from the young folks Feel free to message me if you want to talk through any specifics or just need to talk. Congratulations for taking the leap. You won't regret it.

    Yoga? No-ah

Tai Chi is also a great workout. It looks deceptively easy but is also great for balance and your core.
  20. Great answer! I usually just think of it as pee, tears, sweat, and breathing. It consoles me when I am living in the bathroom and boo-hooing my eyes out. Metaphorically, I also remind myself that "words are units of energy" when I journal.

    Premier Protein- HOT!

I can't answer your specific question about Premier but I have protein hot chocolate that is good. I got several varieties from Bariatric Choice. One brand is ProtiDiet.
  22. I think it is safe to say that just about everyone who posts to this board has a complicated relationship with food whether or not we have WLS surgery or not. Also, any major change like WLS will shake up the status quo in our relationships. Based on some of the issues you brought up in your post you might want to consider talking with a counselor or therapist or attending a support group such as OA. You can sort out your feelings and your relationship with both food and your mother but it may take some work. Best of luck.

    Well, I Went Swimsuit Shopping

I am so sorry you were ill and couldn't swim or use the hot tub. Sounds like you will need to plan a post-vacation vacation or getaway so you can wear your new suit (or head to the YMCA).

Walking 10 minutes out of every hour

Whether you have had surgery or not you should still try to walk 10 min out of every hour when you travel long distances in a car or on a plain. My understanding is that the chances of blood clots forming is high for anyone in those instances. My surgeon requires anyone who lives more than 30 minutes away to have a plan to stop and walk every 30 - 45 minutes on the way home from surgery.

    Rewards for pounds lost

I plan to reward myself with things I haven't been able to do since I have been so large. I don't have specific pound goals but as I am able to do more things, I plan to indulge. Some of the things on my list: A regular massage. Pedicure. Some day trips/weekend road trips. Some classes/workshops. Some new clothes. A season ticket to the local theater. Football games. Concerts/live music. These are some of my ideas but will probably change as my I get my life back and the possibilities open up.
