    Day 1 post op!

Congratulations in going through with the sleeve and not chickening out! The only thing I can suggest for the gas pain is to walk and try a heating pad. I hope you feel better soon.

    SLEEP STUDY

I am surprised your surgeon consented to do surgery with untreated sleep apnea.

Can't drink protein shakes! Any other options?

By the way, stay off the scale! It is my understanding (and how I am approaching it) is that the only things I need to be focusing on are: getting enough Fluid and Protein, walking, and breathing. Just focus on the basics and have faith that everything else will fall into place.

Can't drink protein shakes! Any other options?

It just feels like it's backed up in my chest and squeezes and is uncomfortable. Maybe it's where they repaired the hiatal hernia? I'm just worried because I did the surgery with a BMI of 29 and I have lost 15 pounds in 4 days. I hope this was a healthy decision that I made. I'm beginning to get depressed and regret my decision. I agree with @BLERDgirl. You are probably drinking too much, too fast. Try taking tinier sips.

    Incision question

    Are you using a spirometer?

You can look on the labels or ask the pharmacist. My surgeon gave us a whole page listing common NSAIDs and steroids to avoid.

Can't drink protein shakes! Any other options?

When you say you can't get them down, what do you mean? Are you taking teeny tiny sips (basically drips) or are you taking small swallows? Does it feel uncomfortable, or painful?

Can't drink protein shakes! Any other options?

Syntrax Nectar and Isopure have clear protein (at 4 days out you are probably on clear liquids). Bone broth has some protein, too.

Be sure and get rid of your Advil. I was told not to ever take NSAIDs after surgery. Some can eventually but my surgeon said absolutely no NSAIDs or steroids six weeks after surgery (it can interrupt healing and cause leaks).
  11. Congratulations, you are looking great.

No energy and 4 days post op!

I am so sorry you are feeling down. I was sleeved on Monday and came home Tuesday. Fortunately, I haven't had any major issues (so far). Are you able to get your Protein and Water? Are you able to walk much?

    Insurance requirements

These are questions you should raise with your bariatric team. They are experienced with working with the various insurance policies/companies. Or, call your insurance company again and get more clarification. Best of luck.

Congratulations on your progress so far. It sounds like you are doing great. Are you getting in your Protein, Water and Vitamins?

I wanna sandwich- 5 weeks out

Have you tried deconstructing a sandwich and just eating the insides, without bread?

Oxygen for 4 weeks post op!?

It wasn't Penny by any chance? (Sorry, I couldn't resist.)

I can't get my protein down and I'm 3 days post op.

Yes, I liked both the chicken and the tomato soup. I've had wild berry, grape, orange, peach mango, and tea cranberry so far. They are all ok. The peach mango and tea cranberry are my favorite concentrates so far.

I can't get my protein down and I'm 3 days post op.

I got some at my surgeon's office and have also ordered from Bariatric Choice. Here is a link: http://www.bariatricchoice.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=ProtiDiet+liquid Edited to add: the liquid concentrates are sweet but the Soups are savory. I hope this helps.

    Any April Sleevers?

My surgeon said absolutely no steroids or NSAIDs for six weeks post-surgery because they cause leaks.

    Recipes

Have you ever tried making it without the trivia? It seems the pudding mix would add sweetness.

I can't get my protein down and I'm 3 days post op.

I was given ProtiDiet liquid concentrate in the hospital and brought some home. I put it over crushed ice and just take little sips all day. I also added in premier Protein, ProtiDiet chicken and tomato Soups. In addition to Water I am just sipping all day. I certainly wouldn't wait until you feel hungry to start drinking your water or protein or you never will get it all in. Best of luck.

    Any April Sleevers?

Try a heating pad, too. I had some gas pain in shoulder and s heating pad seems to help.

    Struggling...needing encouragement

I, too had my surgery on April 20. Walking and using a heating pad on my shoulder has helped with the gas pain. My problem, if you would call it that, is that my mom has been a great help but doesn't yet truly understand that I can't take big swallows of Water and Clear Liquids. It's an educational process.

Real Food, Real Weightloss, Still Delicious

I don't cook much, and just had my surgery so am on clear liquids. I am commenting on how good this looks Sao I can find this post when I get there.

Finally Have My Date -- April 20, 2015

Glad to hear you are doing better. Mine has been uneventful. I came home last night and slept well. I was really cold in the hospital and last night, but the weather has turned chilly. I am sipping on the ProtiDiet liquid concentrate, ice chips, and Water.
