    Help getting over this hump...

Are you reaching your protein, water, and exercise goals every day?

    Condensed Protein Shake

Can't you count the water/fluid in your protein shakes. My first two weeks post op when I was on liquids I counted all my liquids toward my water total.

    Soft/Pureed Recipes for strict doctor

Since you are so limited in what you can have you may just need to eat individual foods (rather than recipes/combinations). Ex. Yogurt, turkey/cheese roll ups, cottage cheese, etc. Can you use herbs, spices, and seasonings? Can you do grilled or baked fish or shrimp? Since your surgeon is so strict maybe your NUT can provide you with some ideas.

    Can't do anymore protein!

I was able to use ProtiDiet chicken and tomato soups during my clear and full liquid phases and they really helped me get my protein. I was tired of sweet protein all the time so the savory helped.

Is it CHEATING or is it a CHOICE?

I had a Wonder Slim dark chocolate Protein pudding with PB2 tonight. Not quite a peanut butter cup but pretty darn close.
  6. Are you getting your protein and water?

    Trouble with food

It doesn't help with the urge, but all you owe anyone who offers you food is a polite "No, thank you." with a smile.

    Soft/Pureed Recipes for strict doctor

I think they are the same thing. I order mine from Drugstore.com.

    Food

Be careful with strawberries this early , too. I was told nothing with seeds on the soft diet. You may want to give your NUT a call for clarification.

    Food

I seem to recall reading somewhere that watermelon may be problematic early on because of the fibrous flesh.
  11. Congratulations, from where I sit (3 weeks post-sleeve) you seem to be doing great. I am on the opposite side of your issue, trying to establish routines that remind me of my vitamins and water. The only thing I can suggest related to your vitamins is to set a reminder alarm on your phone and/or connect it to another regular activity.

    Ok weird, Pickle Juice

I haven't craved pickle juice but I can't wait for dill pickles. I love pickled anything (beets, peppers, etc.), sauerkraut, and mustard. Yum.

Had a sleeve 1 year ago! Still Haven't lost!

I would reiterate what everyone else said. Make sure you get your protein and water goals everyday. Exercise. And, don't be afraid to visit your surgeon, your NUT, a support group, and a therapist. If you are unhappy with your progress there is nothing wrong in using all the help that is available to you.

    Kentucky Anyone

My mom has been great. I couldn't have done this without her. It has been a learning curve for her, too.

    Kentucky Anyone

I am so glad you posted. I can't believe I got out of the office without getting anyone's contact info. Are you feeling better? I can't wait for my incisions to completely heal so I can get in the pool.

    Your Support System

Everyone has been supportive but my mom has been the superstar. She has attended all my appointments (sitting in on some of the classes) and was with me every minute at the hospital. I couldn't have done it without her.

    Support Group

Did you attend? If so, how did it go? I haven't yet been to a post-surgery support group but did attend a post-surgery group nutrition class. My experience with support groups and recovery groups in general has always been positive. I have never regretted attending one.

    Chest pain when swallowing

I agree. was going to suggest trying different temperatures (room temp or warmer) to see if that makes a difference.

    Help

There are so many variables (height, starting weight, recovery from surgery), that you can't compare. The only numbers that are my business are the ones I can influence/control: those are protein and water. Are you reaching, or approaching, your protein and water goals?

    Mushy Help

My NUT recommended adding a bit of gravy. She even specifically recommended the prepared kind you buy in jars.

Is it CHEATING or is it a CHOICE?

To me "cheating" is an old diet term. Remember when Weight Watchers had legal and illegal foods? Diets don't work for me so I no longer diet. Since I am post-op a few weeks, I have a plan. I have a variety of foods that are on my plan and the variety expands weekly. I prefer to focus on what I can have. It is a choice. I hope I will make healthy choices and the more I understand my choices the more likely I am to make the right ones for me.

    I can't believe this happened!

Emergencies happen all the time in healthcare. Until you know differently, it's best to assume she didn't miss it on purpose. Have faith that everything will work out in the end. May 20 isn't very far away.

    Ewww this is horrible

I was sleeved April 20 and am still not allowed strawberries due to the seeds.

    Brand new to the forum

Welcome. I know there are other folks on here from Israel. You posted to the Gastric Bypass forum. Have you already decided on the bypass? I was recently sleeved after a very long time preparing. I was completely against any kind of surgery until my Dr. convinced me to just check it out and learn more. I found that the little knowledge I had was very outdated. I, too was very obese but until the past few years hasn't had any major health issues. Then, I started to fall apart. Today, I couldn't be happier with my recovery and more hopeful about my future. Best of luck with your journey. BariatricPal is an invaluable resource.
