    Pudding?

sugar free Chocolate. I also like the WonderSlim dark chocolate. You make it with Water and it already has Protein in it. I also sometimes add PB2 to it.

    Pudding?

Probably not a good idea. What does your NUT say? I prefer 1% myself.

    I need help :(

I am so sorry for your loss. Definitely talk to a counselor. Grief counseling has been very helpful to me in addition to counseling around food. Is there anything else that you and your sister shared besides food? Maybe journaling about memories of your sister and/or making a memory book to share with her kids when they are older might be something that you could do? This is where talking with a professional would be helpful. Identifying ways to honor you and your sister's relationship and memory in a healthy way would help you be there for your family. Keep us posted on how you are doing.
  4. Obviously, you aren't interested in support. I am out. Best of luck with your journey. I hope you find what you are looking for.

    Self sabotage

I would guess that almost all of us have felt the same way, I know I can relate. We are bombarded with the message from society that obesity is a character flaw. I had an awesome surgeon and one of the best things he did was educate me on the disease of obesity and the physiology of weight gain/loss. That helped a tremendous amount toward relieving a lot of guilt. With modern world of abundant food and industrial food production there is a reason that obesity is epidemic all over the world.

    spicy foods?

I started using Siracha during the liquid phase, too.
  7. Actually, you started this post. You seem to be the one who wants help. I am in no way perfect but deflecting is not going to help you move forward. (And no, I do not have any candy bars or junk food in the house. I do have some delicious Quest bars in my kitchen and I do allow myself mashed potatoes on occasion.)
  8. Here in Kentucky we are blessed with an abundance of local food sources, from farmer's markets to local food producers. What are your favorite WLS friendly resources. In central Kentucky we have lots of small Amish stores. My favorite is near Harrodsburg (Kountry Kupboard). They have a great selection of deli meats and cheeses. Another is Yoder's in Lincoln County. I am heading to Kountry Kupboard this week hopefully for the first time post-op so will be looking carefully to see what goodies fit in my program. I am also planning to get some me eats at Marksbury Farm soon. I would love to hear about your favorite local foods and flavors.

    I need help :(

Wow, you really haven't been following your post-op program. I glad the only problem it seems to have caused is that you haven't lost as much as you had hoped. I am glad you didn't hurt yourself. That said, it's never too late to start following your program. Why not make an appointment with your NUT. In the meantime, pull out your post-op instructions and reread everything. What is your Protein goal? Starting today, commit to getting in all your protein and Water. Get all the junk out of your house. You might also want to consider making an appointment with a therapist or counselor. Best of luck in getting on track.
  10. I DO NOT love Donald Trump, so you may just have the wrong audience. If you are serious about changing your life why is there a candy bar in your kitchen? If you do recognize that you have a food addiction are you seeing s therapist or counselor? Have you tried OA? At some point you have to decide whether this is important enough and that you and your health is important enough to do something positive. Not just sit back and throw rocks at other people.

Good carbs / Healthier food choices

I eat a lot of green Beans. I started out with the little single serve green bean cups during my soft phase. I also have had some broccoli on occasion. I am almost four months out and have had green beans (fresh, canned, from restaurants, home cooked, etc.), squash, and broccoli most often. Just recently I have had a bit of salad. Fresh tomatoes are in season so I have had a lot of sliced tomato. I had some sliced cucumber this week.

    Should I be worried?

Glad to hear. I know you didn't do it but just underscores the importance of being very careful with prescription meds. I hope she realizes now why you aren't supposed to store them in other than the original labeled bottles. Best of luck with your surgery.
  13. I am so sorry to hear that you are struggling but am truly glad to hear your apology. We all have to remember that sarcasm does not communicate well through social media. I bet you will get a lot more support if you are honest and a bit more humble and open minded. As to your struggling with food issues, I do agree with moderation in some areas but I know I have to be realistic. For me, what has worked so far is to not relent on the Protein and Water goals. After that, I can be a little more flexible.
  14. Each of my phases was one week, but mine was: Clear Liquids, full liquids, soft foods, soft mechanical foods, etc. Each phase built on the previous phase so I didn't completely abandon liquids as I added in my soft foods. I just expanded the choices I had available to me.

    Liquid Protein

Do you mean Protein shots? I haven't used them or bought any but I thought they were available at stores like WalMart. For condensed protein I used the ProtiDiet liquid beverage concentrates. They gave them to me in the hospital and my surgeon's office carries them. I also can order them online. Initially after surgery I used them undiluted. Now I just add them to my Water bottle. They are 15 grams a packet.

    New to fifties group

Mahalo, Queen of Crop. One of these days I am going to message you. I am thinking about writing a book about this experience and would love your insight. Of course, I am always THINKING about writing and not actually writing...
  17. Protein supplements are ONE way to get in protein. You do know about macronutrients, right? Protein/carbs/fats?

    New to fifties group

We don't see signature lines when reading via the iPhone app. And, yes, read her book! (I finally posted an Amazon review as promised. Sorry it took me so long.)
  19. No mention of eating enough protein in your post. Exercising will only help you build muscle if you have enough protein to build with. So eat what you want as long as you are getting in your protein first and are able to get enough in.

    Should I be worried?

What I would be worried about is your willingness to take a prescription/controlled med that wasn't prescribed for you. You have got to be very vigilant post-op and ONLY take meds that are prescribed or recommended for you. Doctors really do take into account a range of variables when prescribing meds for each individual.

    Coke Zero pre op diet

Mio drops are good. I was never a huge crystal light fan pre-op but now I use crystal light and Mio drops all the time to help me get in my water.

    What Are Your Must-Have Foods?

Drugstore.com is great for staples like protein supplements (they carry a wide variety including GNC). I also get Quest Bars and vitamins through them.they didn't have a variety pack of Quest Bars but I did get one through Amazon. Once you know what flavors you like you can order them by the box through drugstore.com.
