Personal Style -- How will I dress as a thin woman?

I need/want to figure this out myself. I am nowhere near being able to fit in regular-sized clothes but I am starting to think about this. I recently subscribed to Vogue. I haven't read a fashion magazine in years so that was a big step. I have also subscribed to some catalogs I think are close to my taste (J. Jill, Talbots, etc.) just to see what is out there. I know that as I approach goal I am going to need some help, so plan to consult a personal shopper at a department store at some point. One thing is for sure, I plan to shop carefully and only buy clothes I truly love. One good thing about being as old as we are (I am 51), is that many of the styles I liked when I was a teenager are coming back around again!

    Another year alone

I agree with everyone above. Get in the pool! Just don't forget the sunscreen. The benefit/drawback to using the pool at your apartment is that it gives you a chance to meet your neighbors. Don't be afraid to chat with whomever you meet there, just don't be afraid to take care of yourself and get your exercising in. It MAY give you a chance to practice setting boundaries, depending on who you may meet there. It will be an adventure. If the sun is too strong then see if you can find an indoor pool (the Y, a gym, a college or university, or even a hotel, might be an option). I love going to movies, too but haven't been in a while. Years ago I belonged to a film group that was fun. It was a great way to meet folks. I don't know if folks do that sort of thing anymore where you live, but you might see if there is something on meetup. (I am one of those people who is perfectly happy going by myself...)

Should I cancel my surgery? Help!

I bought a couple of blenders before surgery and really haven't used them much. I didn't have a purée phase, though. I do use my blender bottles, though. You might want to consider a small blender or immersion blender. For my clear phase I used a lot of the ProtiDiet liquid concentrates that my surgeon's office sold. To me that tasted better and were easier to get down than the Isopure. My favorite Protein shakes are Premier, Syntrax nectar, and GNC Lean 25 but tastes vary so you will need to experiment and find what works for you. My surgeon allowed a couple of the ProtiDiet Soups during my clear and full liquid phases which really helped because the sweet shakes were tiring for me. Best of luck with your surgery. I am glad you decided to go through with it while your daughter is under a doctors care. I don't think either of you will regret it when it comes time to change all those diapers!

Project Runway, Fashion, and Plus Sizes

I didn't like the tent/cape this week. Glad she had immunity. There were some really bad designs but I thought the whole greeting card idea was pretty limiting. Next week is teams. I hate teams. It's when the bad behavior usually really comes out.

    Caffeine

Caffeine is a diuretic so having it early on, especially when you are struggling to get in fluids is not a good idea. Check with your NUT. Mine said I could eventually have no more than one cup a day. In the meantime you could try some herbal infusions or decaf tea.

4 days post op... I am hungry?!

Wow. I agree, tuna on day four is unusual. I had 1 week clear liquids, 1 week full liquids, 1 week soft, and then I was allowed fish in week 4. The reaction you had to the tuna salad would have me believe it's way too early.

    Heat stroke and the sleeve

Since it happens so much for you have you talked with your doctor about strategies for avoiding heat stroke? Staying hydrated is critical but you could be doing more. Do you wear a hat? Dress for the heat? I lived in Atlanta for 30 years so I know heat. If you keep your pulse points cool it helps. Putting a cold bottle of Water against the back of your neck cools you down fast. Heat is no joke.

    11 days away - anxious/nervous/scared

Congratulations on your recovery. You sound like you are doing great and I love your enthusiasm. I would caution you to listen to your surgeon and maybe not push yourself too hard. You are still healing, especially internally, and you don't want to injure something that might put you in the hospital and set back your surgery. As to the snack packs at the amusement park, those would be a great idea if you were farther out post-surgery, but even though you are tempted, stick with your post-op plan. The texture of your food is critical early out (see my above comment about pushing yourself). Why not take some extra Syntrax packets instead of the nuts, etc.? This is the first time I read your post. I don't generally read all the bypass posts and appreciate your honesty. Best of luck with your further recovery.
  19. My concern for the study is that the data is based on 4 weeks and then the projected results are extrapolated from that. We all know that our bodies do not function in a consisted way and change and adapt over time. I would like to know how they tested/developed the model they used.

Feeling of food stuck in chest

I got some nice appetizer spoons. Now, I usually use a t-spoon but just the tip (not a full spoonful). It definitely takes practice.
